Pantries can run low for many reasons. We do not shop before a road trip and for the day or two first coming home. I keep a homemade premade meal or two in the freezer. I also keep self stable items on the shelf.

Lentil and Kale soup

7 qt of vegetable broth

2 cups of lentils

3 diced carrots

2 diced onions

2 tablespoons of sweet basil

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon of oregano

cook in slow cooker for 6 hours

add 1 cup of sauteed kale before serving
