Sometimes, this means saving up, looking for a free option,and bartering. We are on our second hot tub. The first one was an inexpensive version that I sold on Craigslist. Our second hot tub I found on Facebook Marketplace for free. The deal was it needed to be picked up within a few hours. My husband and I loaded it on the truck. Hottub price: free Outdoor sauna: cost of materials 200 hundred dollars these can range anywhere from 1000-3000 dollars. The Home gym has paid for itself. Above Ground pool 900 dollars on clearance 279 and paid for with gift card from survey work. A frugal household is often shifting time and resources. I know that making 3 lasgnas saves money and time for lean weeks. Canning and freezing produce saves us money and time in the winter. Raising pigs, chickens, ad buying half a cow reduces our meat bills. The meat is cleaner. i know where to save for ourlives where we live. We live in a rural area. We have Walmart and City Market which I do not care to serve all our needs. By doing DIY products, I save money and time. Entertainment in Colorado can cost little more than a tank of gas. We hike, take the kids fishing, and disc golfing. On the winter night, a cup of hot herbal tea grown from my garden and sweeten with honey from our hives and a good thick book. We are blessed to have a home of solitude and solace. This evening I knew I had watched too much news. I went for a run with the dogs, I came home and got into the hot tub and sauna. In these times of politcial strife and horrific news from the Middle East, Russia posturing, and Ukraine. It is very important to limit watching the news if it triggers you. I find reading the news to be less troubling, the visuals get me. I spend time in quiet solace praying that the world comes in peaceful balance. TO READ I have been reading a lot of different texts lately. I am back to reading novels. I am blessed to have a great library system which has saved me thousands of dollars in books. And honestly, space. I learned a long time ago that libraries don't have space for all the books they own. They count on people having books checked out! I am reading The Book of Love by Kelly Link. I am reading THE PIVOT YEAR by Brianna West. I am reading a lot of books by Maira Kalman I continue with my Bradbury Trio of reading a poem, story, and essay every day. It impacts my writing in the best ways! I read a lot of high quality Substacks too. And I will be reading other March Challenge blog posts this whole month of March! To Listen To I listen to a lot of podcasts especially when walking, running, or driving. I listened to SHORT STORY TODAY with the interview with Amy Barnes. I listen to The Atlas Obscura Podcast and THE MFA WRITERS podcast. I listened to a few that I don't want to list because I didn't enjoy them too! I exchange many audio messages between friends and enjoy leaving and received these messages too! ​To Watch I started rewatching Emily In Paris on Netflix. This is a fun show for me. I enjoy the banter and the fashion and that there is a chef that is a main character. I don't watch much TV generally, but do have shows I am drawn to. My husband and I watch the occasional movie as well. This week we watched "No Reservations". ​To Do I'm traveling this first week of March with my son and I will savor each experience. I will also run and write! ​To Write I write to prompts daily. I have reading that I respond to as well in my notebook. One of the formats I enjoy is Summer Brennan's 5 Thing Essay. ​Happy March!!
