Some believed, that the DDP is way worse compared to before, and some believed, that this was only, Lai's, silencing those who are against him, while others believe, that this was only a diversion, that Lai uses, to deter the people from focusing in on how he'd not done anything to better the situation the country is in since he took office. And the meanings of all of these is: Lai is the hand that controlled the matter of Cheng's getting taken into custody by the district attorney's office.

The president, Lai since he got into office, he'd, shown his real self of being opinionated, his drive to fight, the "new two country theory" of his, is battling with China, the reform act of legislature, is his means of, having his political party fight the parties that are not in control of the executive branch of government, supporting the populist movements outside the legislature, to push forth his "democratic policies". All of these, showed how limited knowledge he had of the democratic operation of a government: being able to compromise with those who have differences of opinions, getting along peacefully with other parties, that, is at the heart of, democracy, being persistent on one's own values, insisting in ruling the country based off of one's own beliefs, that's exactly the same as, an authoritarian!

Although Lai wasn't like the guardian of democracy, we still can't, explain the ousting of Cheng under no evidence whatsoever either. Besides, if we guess at how the president, Lai ordered the operations of the justice systems, it will only, deepen that distrust the people have toward the justice system, and this is unbeneficial toward a progressive, mature, political, culture.
The biggest indicator of whether or not a democracy is mature enough, is in the independence of the judiciary. Undoubtedly, the air from before, caused the people to lose trust toward the justice systems, a lot of people believed, that the justice system of Taiwan is generally, intervened by the political powers. If this isn't a healthy democratic political culture, and under the reinforcement of "justice being affected by politics" by the famed talk show hosts, the politicians, would this, be beneficial to the long-term beneficial developments of a society?
I'm not denying the possibility of Lai's ordering the D.A. to work the cases, but, for the sake of the healthier growth of democracy and politics, I'd rather, just silently, observe the actions of the justice department, without any, hard evidence. The political culture is from the accumulation of everything in politics, and due to how the independent operations of the justice department is questioned currently, we should work harder, to get the political influences out of the judiciary branch of government; and if the politicians' manipulations of the justice department had been found valid, we should, be harsh in the punishments, but this should NOT be speaking on a hearsay, to stigmatize the judiciary branch, because, by so doing, we will only add to the growing sense of distrust between the citizens of this country, endangering the harmony and stability of the society.
"The justice isn't independent" is NOT the political culture that we want, the values of "judiciary independence" exceeds the personal interests of the individual, political, parties.
And so because the DDP had DIPPED its filthy hands into the judiciary, how Tsai had, placed ALL the DDP affiliated Grand Justices on the bench, there is, NO impartiality in the justice department, and because the DDP had, placed ALL of its party-affiliated justice onto the benches, of course the rulings are going to be in FAVOR of this corrupt party, and, the checks and balances is, no more, and this is NO longer a democracy, under the DICTATORSHIP ruling of the DDP.
