The resolution of preventing the school instructors from getting attacked by the students is to, set up the laws, to protect the rights of the teachers, but, what would that do, practically??? Absolutely, NOTHING, as it still does NOT teach the instructors, how to prevent themselves from being, attacked in class…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
There'd been, multiple occurrences of students-on-teachers violence throughout Taoyuan of late, for instance, the female instructor was assaulted to sustaining contusion, or the male instructor, almost getting stabbed in the eyes by a ball-point pen. The teaching groups stated, that toward the violent behaviors of students directed toward the instructors, the school can only offer counseling, but, most parents are not onboard, and the group called out to the legislators, to make up for the lacking of protection of school instructors' physical safety and welfare, to not make the teachers into "human meat shields".
The Teachers' Union of Taoyuan, along with the various levels of grades' guilds had received a total of FOUR cases of violence complaints in the past two months, most occurred in the middle or high school campuses, including male students losing emotional control, physically beating the male instructor, causing the instructor to sustain contusions on his knee, forearm, and left hand, or the high school student, using a ball-point pen, and stabbing the pen into the male instructor's eye, and thankfully, the instructor dodged in time, that he'd not gotten, injured.
There was a special needs student who's heavy set, in the past, had records of physically assault the teaching staff members, recently, he'd become, emotional unstable again, and claimed that he was going to, hit the fellow classmates, the female instructor, in the process of trying to calm him down, was beaten by him, she'd sustained the injuries on her arms, and had been traumatized physically, and, psychologically too.
A high school instructor disclosed, that her female coworker was assaulted by her student, and, as the school learned, the school only assigned someone else to teach the class, the students still acted up, the class was always, too loud, and the students called out to the instructors to "shut up!", and the instructor assigned to the class can only, take it, while the female instructor who'd been, physically assaulted could find no forms of support, and in the end, she'd, quit teaching, disappointed in the system.
The vice president of the Taoyuan Teacher's Guild, Chang said, that the students would often, break out into argument with the teachers, as they were discussing things, and things didn't go the students' ways, and, for the more severe, there were the physical attacks, the instructors, to keep the other students safe from the attacks, can only become, the human meat shields, "school should be a safe place, but now, it's a place of fear for both the students AND the teachers.", the educators sighed, that the schools can't do a thing about the violent behaviors of the students, called out that as the teaching staff, in order to protect the students from hurting others or themselves, and getting injured in the process, that there should be the compensations same as the "rights of protection for government employees" used.
The assistant of the Department of Education in Taoyuan, Lai stated that the department already set up the special needs counseling group to visit the student in the school, and using the assessments offered from the school, to make it up to the instructor, to prioritize the safety of the students and teaching staff. He'd stated, that if the instructors are sued in trying to prevent the students from attacking, the instructors can file for the fees to hire the attorneys in court; as for the amendments recommended by the teaching groups, the city government will also discuss with the Department of Education on.
And so, this would be delicate, because, these are, underage minors that acted up, and, violence should never BE allowed, but, there's no stricter law set to protect the rights to work, and learn in a safer environment for the school teachers and the students, and, because there were the multiple incidents of students attacking the school instructors, now, something IS, being done, but, this is still all, hindsight!
