These government officials are still, way too, easily, ENTICED by money, and, I'm sure, that this is only, a tip of that, big iceberg, for MORE corruption in the government, off of the Newspapers, translated…
The former city councilman, Chen, seven year ago, received the bribes from Hsu, a businessman in the amount of $200,000N.T.s, to pressure the demolishing crew to delay the tearing down of an illegally built factory; the former city councilwoman, Wang used the names of her nieces, to use as the dummy accounts, fraudulently claimed a total of over three million dollars N.T. in assistant fees. The second trial found both guilty on encroachment, sentenced Chen to seven years six months, and Wang to five, stripping Chen of his government position for five years, Wang for five years; the two filed for appeals, but the appeals were tossed by the Highest Court, and the D.A. was notified to start the anti-escape means; and the two individual's DDP party membership were also, retracted.
Seven years ago, Chen was accused of accepting the bribe of $200,000N.T. to, pressure the demolition crew, the witness mentioned that on the phones, "I fear Chen to ask me for bribe again", the Investigative Bureau were listening in and recording the conversation, and, this fund had also been, recorded by Hsu's wife in the books. Chen continued to deny the allegations, and filed for an appeal, the second trial found that although Chen denied having taking the bribes, but in the investigations, admitted that he had, and based off of the evidence and testimonies of the witnesses, confirmed Chen had, indeed, taken the bribe, and is charged with encroachment, maintained the rulings of the first.
Wang had been in politics a long, long time, in the testimonies she gave in court, she'd claimed that since she started working for the political party, she'd been morally responsible, worked hard to serve the people, "would it be necessary for me to accept this bribe, if I'd, turned all those offers to me down previously?"
The judge of the first trial believed, that Wang had fraudulently claimed a total of more than $3.35 million N.T.s, and blamed his own mistakes on the investigations of the D.A.'s Office or the justice reforms, no signs of remorse, sentenced him to nine years, stripping him of his public position status for five; the second trial, the judge considered how Wang had admitted to wrongdoing, and he'd turned back the illegally earned income, but in the trials, denied having encroached again, gave him a five year prison sentence.
So, this is how BAD these, DDP politicians are, they'd gotten caught, accepting the bribes, and, denied the FACT that's already been found out, and in the trials, they evaded the responsibilities again, again, and again. And what is worst is that WE the people are, allowing them to abuse power like this, because, we're all, blind, faithful to the PARTY that's already been proven as, CORRUPT!
