Carl's Thoughts on - A Living Example
Hebrews 12:1-3
{1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.}
Have you considered who might be watching your actions? Of course our sons and daughters are watching. But also all who know that we profess to be Christians. How are we showing others Christ in our life? Do our actions match our words? Or are we still bound by our old sins? It is only when we surrender totally that we become truly free.
Our lives are living examples of what we believe, it reflects the God we serve. And there is a great cloud of witnesses watching us.
We are not perfect, but we need to strive to be. Calling on our Lord for strength and guidance in our times of weakness. When we stumble and fall we need to admit what we have done and not try to cover it up. Confess it to God and ask forgiveness.
We need to focus our lives on Christ rather on our old lives. We will face trials and hardships just as Jesus did. But that is not our end. Our joy is our home with Christ in heaven.
To believe is to be living; we are a living example
