On this, the KMT Chinese Department manager of the, Lin spoke to support Weng's claims, and added the words of Chiang Kai-Shek, the former president, "I am Chinese, also, Taiwanese!"
Most people affirmed that president Chiang Kai-Shek stated "I am Chinese also Taiwanese", even as Lai was campaigning for presidency last year, he'd, quoted this. but in my impressions, I think Mr. Chiang Kai-Shek only stated "I am Taiwanese also!", and not "I am Chinese, also Taiwanese". And, I believe, that the society had, overinterpreted what the former president, Chiang had stated.
On July 26, 1987, the former president met the twelve local elders. During the meet, he'd spoken the words of gold, "I am Taiwanese also!"
I find that as the former president, Chiang Kai-Shek stated "I am Taiwanese also", he'd meant that he'd, switched the locations of his residence. Meaning that although he was from Zhejiang, he'd lived in Taiwan for a long time, he'd become, Taiwanese, similar to how those who'd originated from the various provinces of China who'd lived in Taiwan for long, and started referring to themselves as "Taiwanese".
But later, the former president's words were altered into "I am Chinese, also Taiwanese", and this is due to the DDP's brainwashing the citizens, pushing forth Taiwanese independence. And because of this, those who insisted that the former president, Chiang's claims of being both Taiwanese AND Chinese, is interpreted as the means of self-denial of ones' roots.
As for whether or not former president, Chiang agreed that Taiwanese IS Chinese? Undoubtedly, the answer is, yes!
After all, the president of the Republic of China who insisted on following the Constitution, how can he, deceive himself by saying, that he isn't, Chinese?
This is still on the wording of things, how the DDP still tried fooling the people using their manipulative means, we are all of the same roots, all our ancestors came from China, it's just a matter of sooner or later, and those earliest people who'd settled on this island, they all had their roots in China too, and if you really want to trace to the origins of man, then, we're all, AFRICANS, because the first humans came out of the continent of, Africa, and yet, the DDP still tried to FACTION up this already, split island, using the "us" versus "them" mentality to continue to manipulate we the people!
