It takes an ENTIRE village, to raise a child, remember? And this, is how the city government, "chips" in, to take care of these, young siblings whose parents had been, murdered by their, upstairs, neighbor, how the city government followed, PROTOCOL, but, sometimes, these sorts of things, required more than just following the protocols, and the social services WAS, lacking, in what it didn't do, in this particular case, off of the Newspapers, translated…
The couple, Lo was brutally hacked to death by their downstairs neighbor, with their young five and six year old sons bearing witness to their murder, not only were the children now, traumatized, they'd also, become, orphans, their predicament made the society sympathize, the mayor of Kaohsiung, Chen stated, that "I'm sure that everybody feels the same way", that the city government will carry the responsibilities of raising these two young children up, and asked the relatives to not worry.
The district attorneys reexamined the couple's bodies, although the two young children were the sole witnesses of the whole case, the district attorneys considered the psychological states of the children, decided to NOT get their statements by calling them in, instead, they'd asked the social services to help them tell what happened, with the assistance of a team of medical professionals by their side, to evaluate the how believable their testimonies are, and the degree of trauma they are in, to solidify the status of the children's testimonies, as well as to ensure their rights to be, protected.
After the case, the families of the couple had complained, that the social workers only came to visit the children for no more than ten minutes, to make sure that the children didn't need to get placed, then, the social workers, left, and never texted, nor called. The mayor of Kaohsiung, Chen led the head of social services, Hsieh, the head of Department of Education, Hsieh to visit the families and the young children, to tell them that the social services didn't do enough, that they will evaluate, and do better the next time. The social services will be providing the young children with the counseling services that they needed, as well as the funeral services, and legal counsel, etc., etc., etc., all that's needed for the family.
The city government stated, that the mayor, Chen promised the families, that he will have the medical professional to help the children recover from the traumas, and if the children needed to get transferred, to change to a brand new place, the Department of Education will also, assist them. As for those who are kind in the society, who'd wanted to donate to the children's education funding, the city's social services fund program will use the donations for the purposes from the public.
During his interview, Chen stated, that during this time, more support should be shown to the families, and the young children, especially when the recovery from trauma is long and hard, the city government will shoulder the responsibilities for the care of these two young boys, and will combine the resources, to care, to counsel them.
The social services pointed out, currently, other than helping the children have a steady schedule of living, along with psychological counseling, they are also, looking into the professionalism of the social workers, and will based the needs of the children, to provide further assistance, the children will exert signs of posttraumatic stress, and the social services already, educated the families on how to care for them, and what to watch out for.
And so, this is how lacking in professional training, how it's all based off of protocol, these social services are, sure, they'd done everything by the book, but they'd, failed to realize, the needs of the children, and what they should've done, in the time being, and now, comes the hindsight of evaluations of "yeah, we should've done better in that, or shouldn't have done that, we'd, neglected to ask the children how they were, after watching their parents get MURDERED (how do you think they are???), yada, yada, yada…", and now, the city government, after being called out on its callousness of the social services, stated how oh, we will set up a fund for these children, blah-blah-blah, when what's most important, is the PSYCHOLOGICAL states, and yet, the relatives aren't trained psychologists, or professional counselors, who are, equipped to deal with situations like these, and so, yeah, that's, my "evaluation" of all of this here…
