Our homeschool day was long. Geometry is a struggle for our son this year. He had always been the one to simply absorb knowledge. He can speak two languages. This is the first time a class has been a challenge. Today, he told me I don't get it. I smiled I once failed a class. I failed Stats. He didn't believe it until I took out all of my transcripts. Yes, I have my high school as well. There it was in my BA transcripts was my failed Stats class. I had received below an A- in my life. It was a humbling experience. he sat with that a while. Then, we discussed why I had failed that class and what I did to figure it out. So, I decided to teach his lesson a different way. Our daughter is an artist and thinks in shapes. Our son needs words to visualize the shapes. I love that look in a child's eyes when they can grasp the concept.
I canned 25 jars of beets today. I also froze 10 bags of beets, parsnips, and sweet potatoes which bake up wonderfully on a sheet pan.
I made 12 jars of raspberry jam to finish up the day.
