I have made hundreds of them for birthdays, celebrations, bake sales, weddings, and for myself. The other night I whipped up (pun intended)my traditional recipe. The only thing different was I made it in three loaf pans. I put in the oven and set the timer. 15 minutes later, I spied through the oven glass, and the cake had overtaken the boundaries of the pan. Soon, we were greeted with the smell of roasted char, similar to marshmallows. I finished the baking. The cakes were perfectly cooked, except where they were misshappened.
