Watching How the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict Caused the Countries to Get Worse, Taiwan Must Try to Maintain Peace with China
The Russo-Ukrainian War is at its, height, everything started, showing, not just the truth of what the countries were, fighting for, but the newest was, that the D.o.D. of Russia, and the mercenary of Wagner also, came surfacing up as well, the Russian president, Putin had even, made televised speech, accused the head of Wagner, for treason.
Recently, my two Russian classmate whom I'd met when I attended Princeton came to visit, I'd, asked them to a luncheon, and we'd, gathered up, again. We'd, memorialized our professor, C.E. Black who'd passed away in 1989 in Princeton, along with my beautiful wife, Liu, she'd passed in Hong Kong back in 1999. We were a bit saddened, as we'd, gathered together, and, started, sharing our thoughts on current, events.
Recalling how professor Black had mentioned, that at age twenty-nine, he was asked by the U.N. to help mediate the crises in Yugoslavia, and now, the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict is continually, heating up, but the U.N. failed in its, function. After World War II, U.N. was set up, and, U.S. had, involved in every single war ever since, almost. And now, the U.S. supported Ukrainian President, Zelenskyy, seemed to, be the one who's going to, see the country's, end.
Since the start of the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict, hundreds of millions of the population had, lost their, homes. Those who are better of in Ukraine, are still able to ask help from the neighboring countries to take them in, Poland took in over a million of Ukrainian refugees, while those who'd stayed in Ukraine, they're, faced with the hardships of living from day to day. Zelenskyy's incompetence in ruling the county, since the start of the conflict, the ports that Ukraine had in the Black Sea, either got denied entry or that they got, locked in, no ships going in and out. The countries' production of wheat is about a-third of what the world needed, countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Syrian, they all relied on the wheat imports from Ukraine and Russia, especially of the land that weren't, fit to grow anything, in Southern Europe, and now, there's the restricted export, not only the people in Ukraine and Russia are impacted, there's the matter of famine, shortage of food in the entire, global, world. And, many countries in Europe relied on the natural gas provided by Russia, to keep the people from starving, and freezing.
The Pope called out to not use the wheat and the natural gas as tools of, war, it's showing mercies to those ordinary citizens who are, suffering, under this, gamble of, the major, powers. And, reviewing the facts, it's all caused by western allies' plans to include Ukraine into N.A.T.O., and outcastting Russia. Putin insisted he won't use any nuclear weapons, hoping that Zelenskyy can, halt the declaration of Ukrainian independence, to not ruin the country totally. It's very clear, of who's bigger and who's, at a, disadvantage.
And, comparing Taiwan and China, population, military powers, we can't, compare to China. We are, at risk of war now, and yet, the president, wanted to, fight, claimed that war is for the sake of keeping the country independent, this is, too, foolish. This sort of a leader of the country, is, comparable to Zelenskyy who'd, put the people's lives in, danger. People are the, innocent. There's the upcoming elections here, and the deeper issue to be considered, is how to face the rise of China, the choices of peace or war between Taiwan and, China.
I hope, that China and Taiwan will soon start, interacting again, especially on the means of the foreign exchange students. As we can, get to understand how one another thinks, how our views differ and are, similar, we can then, empathize, that, is the only way, to improve the relations of Taiwan and, China. Otherwise, we the people will live under the constant fear of war, Professor Black already died, and my wife, in the tower too, if they knew, how the wars are, happening all over the world, I'm sure, they couldn't, say a word. My former classmates and I are all, over seventy now, we can't, drink the vodka as we wished to anymore.
And so, this is how, a government, would much rather, SATISFY its own, will, than to, consider the outcomes, the consequences of war, for its, people, and this is, truly, awful, with the world's countries, taking the bystanders' perspective, watching, the happenings of war, in the countries, all around them, because, so long as, a bomb, a missile, doesn't, land HERE, we're, all, all right!!!
