Because, not having that many different toys, the kids would have to, invent new ways to play with what they already got in their, hands…what all parents should read! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
A lot of parents believed, that children should be given the toys for Christmas, but the American child development experts said, that not having that many toys at home, it is actually, beneficial to the children's, developing, minds. Alexia Metz, the occupational therapist of University of Toledo told, that she and her team researched and found, that with a limited number of toys at home, the children would engage more deeply, with each toy they play with, which helps in their creative thinking, skills.
Metz who had worked as an occupational therapist from before told, that in the past, when she saw her clients, there were the parents who'd mentioned, that their children never played with one single toy long enough. Metz believes, that it may be the environment that's, causing this behavior patterns in young children, so she and her team set up an experiment, having a group of children into the play rooms, one of the rooms had only four toys, the other, sixteen.

The observations found, that in the room with limited number of toys, the children would sit themselves down, and played with each and every toy more closely. But in the situation where more toys were, provided, the children's play time with each toy greatly, reduced, and they'd, become limited in the ways they'd found, to play with the, toys.
Metz and Huhanek, who also researched into the behaviors of children in play both believed, that it's not easy, to reduce the number of toys available to, children. But, there are, a few ways that this can be, done.
One, if there are, a lot of toys in the home already, you can have the children play with each group of toys on rotation. Metz also suggested, that the children can borrow toys from others to play with, or exchange toys with another family. Secondly, purchasing the toys that can last longer. Third, letting the children play outdoors as the priority. She said, the kids are, creative, "if they aren't given the toys, they will try to find something to play with, when they're, outdoors."
And so, to help your children become more creative, reduce the number of toys you give to them, it saves up the resources, reduce the amount of trash each family makes, helps the environment, and because the children don't have that many new toys they can play with, to not get bored, they will have to, invent new ways that they can, to play with the toys they already, have, which helps develop their critical thinking abilities, and helps them become more creative, which will help them in problem-solving in their, futures.
