You all were officers of the LAW, and should BE, enforcing the laws, but you were, enticed by money…knowing the law AND committing the crimes, police taking the bribes, the corruption of the law enforcement officials, off of the Newspapers, translated…
Six officers of Haishan Substation of the Hsinbei Police Department were suspected of harboring the illegal mahjong gambling rings, became a snitch for the rings, or had illegally looked into individual citizens' personal data, two nights ago late in the nights, the Hsinbei D.A.'s Office led the raids, and conducted a search of the station where the officers worked, and had more than ten individuals involved in the gambling rings, and other witnesses to testify, the district attorneys are interviewing the individuals overnight.
Based off of understanding, of the six involved law enforcement officers, the highest ranked as a sergeant, Chen, he and another patrol officer, Lin not only frequently showed up in Banciao, Hsinbei and Sanchong to the underground mahjong casinos, were also suspected of letting the operators of the illegal gambling rings when the police would come for the unannounced searches, so the operators could, transfer the evidence to an alternative location to continue operating the gambling rings, then the officers would get paid off, the officers were found to have been involved in accepting bribes, and other, felonies.
The sergeant, Chen who's fifty-three worked in the police forces for over thirty years, he was prosecuted for gambling in the illegal baseball bets, but at the start of the year, the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, this time, he'd been found to have covered up for the underground mahjong gambling rings, gave the operators heads up when the police is coming, he is once again, listed as a coconspirator.
The substation stated, the Chen is a law enforcement officer, knew the law, broken it, he'd become, unfitted as a police officer, if the district attorneys have him taken into custody, then, the office will use the means of write-ups, and terminating his position with the police forces, and go after the evaluators of his work performances.
The rest of the four officers, Chang, Chuang, Hsu and Hsiao, were all in suspicion of using police power to look up personal data without just cause, after the district attorneys interrogated them, Chang and Chuang were out on bails of $30,000N.T.s each, Hsu and Hsiao, sent back. Currently, the preliminary investigations showed that the four officers were involved in accepting bribes, but the police department will dig deeper, to find out the motives, and the purpose of the four officers' using the police powers to look up the personal data.
The city police stated, the case is on the decency of the officers, that as the police found out, they'd notified the Hsinbei D.A.'s Office to oversee the investigation proceedings, if the officers had broken the law, they will, be punished.
So, the motive would be money here, and, that just showed, how easily people CAN and WILL be, bought, that no matter how honest, how morally responsible an officer you think you are, chances are, you can't say no to the cash.
