Post May 20th, China and Taiwan are still, testing and prodding, the June first "Banning Group Tours to China" is still on, the Lai government that's war hawk, came up with the tactics of "the old tour groups can head to China to visit", planned to show that hand in kindness, but, go interpreted as going in from the back, which cause Fujian to respond in delaying the tour groups on technicalities, became, a useless dose of, placebo.
The tourism ban to China spanned across the Tsai and the Lai governments, in February of this year, the government of Tsai used the reasons of China's altering the M503 tours, to issue the group tour bans to China, which busted all the tour groups ready to head to China by March. But, to protect the rights of those who'd signed onto the tours, there were the new tour groups set up, the tourists signed up for the trips between March and May are still allowed to travel to China.

The government by Tsai's means, originally was to give the space of the interactions of Taiwan and China for the future, leaving the decision to the new government led by Lai on May 20th, as Lai took office. But, in his inaugural address, Lai made it clear, the positions of the tactics, the Communist Chinese forces started up the drills, and started, prodding at Taiwan even harder, lacking the trust in between, refusing to extend a hand in friendship, causing the narrowing of the opening of interactions between China and Taiwan.
From Tsai to Lai, the platform of communication with China is exactly the same, the same fight between the hawkish and the dovish, with the national security teams as the brakes, the MAC, the Department of Transportation as, buffers. What's different is, the core values of the Lai government is still, not yet, decided.
From how the various units zoomed in on the different key points of Lai's inaugural address, you can see the disagreement, some drew the line at "tourism, the Chinese students coming to Taiwan to attend university", some highlighted "wanting China to admit that the Republic of China exists", one is the stature, the other, the dignity.
Do we pay more attention to what's on the surfaces or what's deep down, when the two are in a tug-of-war, the decision making agencies have the varied priorities, and the policy in whole would, sway, in the end, the plans of "with a little more persistence", "with a little more interactions", the originally assigned tour groups being allowed out. And in the end, this gets interpreted by Beijing as ill-willed, and the tourist agencies upset, the defy Chinese factions worrying that the screws are loose, and nobody is satisfied.
And so, the sides is, once again, in that, deadlock in interactions, the animosity between China and Taiwan is spiraling upward, the tourism industry, still, deformed, the tourists and the travel agencies became, the bargaining chips, and the benefits and rights, still, lacking.
And, because the DDP can't play nice with China, that's why ALL the industries in this "country" is, suffering. The travel agencies, sliced and diced, the agricultural produces, not going to get into China (but hey, we can, still sell these homegrown things to other countries in Southeast Asia, so we're, good!), and it's all due to the IDEOLOGIES of DDP's TAIWANESE INDEPENDENCE, and China is now, SHUTTING Taiwan UP, because they only admit to the ONE-CHINA policy, and with the DDP taking power, of course China will, SHUT us all up!
