Well, I haven't written a post in a very very long time. Life has been crazy lately, with many changes and challenges, all good though. What's been on my mind a lot lately is Bob Marley which was our go-to musician/music for when my children and I would go to the beach or to the pool.

During the summer, we would live in our mountain house in Kfour. It was about 950 meters above sea level and about a 15 minute car ride down to the autostrad (highway). Lebanon only has one major autostrad that runs the length of the country and along the sea. We would either go to our beach chalet at Aqua Marina (which was right on the Jounieh bay and next to the Autostrad) to swim at the pool or go to the White Beach which was about 30 kilometers north.

No matter if we were going to "Aqua" or to the White Beach, the four of us: my two sons, daughter, and I would be in my X Trail jammin' to tones, and the designated beach tone was Bob Marley.

Usually who ever got in the car first made dibs on the first song which was more often than not "Buffalo Soldier". My favorite was "Exodus". With the music loud, we would grove and sing to the music. It just set the mood and tone for a brilliant time. It's amazing what good music can do for the soul.

We'd usually leave early around 8:30 or 9:00 am and come back before lunch so around 1:30 pm. Those few hours of swimming and sun were enough. Plus that was the time it started to get hot.

I loved that my children loved "my" music. Besides Bob Marley, they listened to the Rolling Stones, U2, the Police, Sting, Patti Smith, and so many more. I tell ya, they have taste.

When I think back on all those wonderful times going to the beach and groovin' to Bob Marley, I smile and my heart warms. The small moments in life can be the best memories.
