It is hard to feel excited today while grieving for my Aunt Janet but somehow it feels appropriate that my new linen tablecloth and napkins arrived on a day when I am thinking about a woman who loved fabrics and kept a beautiful home of tasteful furnishings. (Her Christmas card every year was an item to look forward to, open carefully, and behold with awe.)

Perhaps, as I care for these beautiful items, I will offer up the work of laundering as a tribute to her. A way to honor her and be grateful for all she taught me. It is a lovely thought.
