Almond flour, sometimes called almond flour or ground almonds, are all similar. I used bleached almond flour, but unbleached almond flour will work as well. Only the color of the low-carb fries is different. Find out how to choose the best keto Flour.
Chia Seeds - I used Chia Chia seeds, use what you have. Any color will work here.
Spices of your choice - play with spices and create different flavors for your low-carb chips! I like to combine ground cumin, garlic powder, and nutritional yeast; this gives a cheesy flavor and also adds more vitamins B1 and B2. smoked peppers, peppers, dried rosemary, curry powder, or even turmeric.
Olive Oil - I've also tried the recipe with a variety of healthy oils like avocado oil, almond oil, and hazelnut oil, which is a great way to give your fries that special flavor.
Instructions
These are the 3 simple tips for making crispy chips with almond flour:
1.The thinner the better - follow my technique below - I roll my dough between two pieces of parchment paper - this is MANDATORY. Squeeze the rolling pin very hard to make the dough super thin. The use of parchment paper is not optional. the dough sticks to the rolling pin, which makes it very thin. And it makes transferring the fries to the baking sheet a breeze - all you have to do is pick up the piece of parchment paper and move it around. The rolled out dough does not have to be moved!
2.High Bake & Check Every Minute - Thin tortilla chips are usually ready to cook in just 6 minutes, but depending on how thin they are, they may take an extra minute. every minute after 6 minutes of baking time. Most of the time they are cooked, but sometimes I roll my fries a little thicker and it takes up to 8 minutes.
3.Color is your indicator. If it's golden, you're done! Leave to cool for 5 minutes on a baking sheet; This will make them crispier! Don't skip this step or your gluten-free tortilla chip recipe will be too mushy!
