Oh, look, another military mecha anime.

Excuse me, miss, how are you making the humming sound with your mouth open?

So, I'm conflicted about this one. The animation is off putting in a way I can't quite put my finger on, the boob wedgies look particularly uncomfortable, and I've never been a fan of portrayals of the military in media - they tend to either glorify or villainize an otherwise complicated organization, which I won't get into right now. On the other hand, the subversion of the usual 'we can beat them with enough determination, the power of friendship, and this big gun I found' trope was... surprising. I don't necessarily like this show, but I think it may have something there worth discussing. I'm willing to give this a couple more episodes.
