At what point in your relationship do you realize that your partner might no longer be invested in the relationship as much as you are? How can you tell when your partner is no longer interested in the relationship?
Sometimes the signs are glaring, but we choose to ignore them. But it can be quite difficult to tell because how do you know it's actually time to walk away and not just a "rough patch" you could work through?
Here are 4 people sharing stories on the moment they knew their partners had lost interest in the relationship. Hoping that these stories serve as pointers.

The moment I realized I was dating myself was when I noticed I was the one always making plans to hangout. Like he was so comfortable just seeing me once in four months and we were supposed to be in a relationship??? Another thing I noticed was our communication. It seemed like we had a timetable, he will call me in the morning to just say "good morning and have a nice day" and then the next time I'm hearing from him is when I'm getting ready to go to bed. Our conversations never passed like 8 minutes. Even texting him was a struggle. I was struggling in the relationship. Someone that I was supposedly dating didn't seem much interested in seeing me or having proper conversations with me. Even when we meet in person, it's just sex and vibes. The final straw was when we ran into some of his friends on an outing and he introduced me as his "guy". At that moment, I just knew kpe I was the only one in the "relationship." If nobody explicitly writes, "will you be my girlfriend?" on the sand at the beach, I'm not doing.

For me, it was when I found out that the "friend" she was always hanging out with was actually a guy. I'll call this babe and next thing she's at her friend's place, she's spending the night at a friend's place, she's traveling with this same friend. On her birthday last year, I was out of the country and had planned something huge for her; a surprise private birthday dinner with her friends. I noticed she didn't post anything on her WhatsApp status, so I just assumed she was staying away from her phone because she was overwhelmed by all the messages she was getting. One of our friends later called me and was hailing me for spoiling my babe on her birthday, I was so confused. Screen-recorded and sent her WhatsApp clips to me, apparently she had blocked me from viewing her Whatsapp status. I thought it was weird, so I did some digging. Turns out this 'friend" had thrown a surprise birthday party for her, gotten her really expensive gifts and a trip to Mauritius. In my mind, I was wondering what type of friend would spend this much on another person. Confronted her and all she had to say to me was that if I wasn't willing to step up my game and spoil her right, she had other guys queuing up to take my space. Fear Igbo women please. I left her to her God.

We had spent the weekend together. I was chilling with him on the bed watching Tv when he turned around and asked me what time I was leaving. I was so confused?? As in he wanted me to leave. We didn't have an argument or anything so I was quite shocked. I just packed my things and left. He didn't even order an Uber for me or call to find out if I had gotten home safe. That was when I realized I was single and was dating myself. We had a chat afterward and we agreed that things weren't working out because it felt like it was one-sided and I was constantly forcing things (we had, in my mind been dating for 5 months.)

Mine is so painful because they actually warned me. The signs were there but I guess I was just choosing to ignore them. I was busy doing house girl duties for a married man. Every time, let me lodge you in a hotel/apartment, I mean it was sweet but I should have known. Whenever I asked him to take me to his house there was always an excuse. I would spend hours cooking on Friday night so I can take freshly made food to him. I would go to the market after a long day at the office, cook for him, bake and bring it over to him. All the times he claimed he was going for an inspection, he was actually going to see his wife. This fool wanted me to get pregnant for him, so he and his wife could take the baby away from me. Men are useless and wicked. Age doesn't even matter. Men are wicked at 25, 38, 45 and 59.
