When people are caught cheating, they come up with all sorts of excuses to justify their actions, and some of these excuses are just are so unbelievable that they make you angry.

In a recent Reddit thread, women were asked to share some of the dumbest excuses for cheating they've ever heard. And, oh man, we have 20 of the worst ones here for you and they are so incredibly cringeworthy, you guys.

1. He told me he cheated to show he loved me more

"It means I love you more. I may mess around with other girls but at the end of the day, I'll always come home to you and choose to stick with you." 💀

2. He claimed my libido was too high

That my libido was so high that he needed a break by screwing another woman. Yes, you read that right. "I'm tired of you wanting all the time so I needed to have more sex because we have too much sex."

3. He claimed he was just doing a test run

"We were planning a threesome as a surprise for you and decided to test it first." He knew I wasn't into other girls... But boy, he was.

4. He told me it was a form of escape

My ex decided to tell me that it was some form of escape when we argue so that he can pretend to be someone else and feel good about himself. He made it seem like some sort of disassociation trip. I love when they try to make you feel guilty for their cheating.

5. He said he didn't really love me

It's not really cheating because I don't love you anymore. I just think of you as a really good friend.

6. He said it was a birthday present

It was a birthday present so it doesn't count.

7. He thought I needed the trauma for character development

He cheated because he thought I needed the trauma for my character development… this is not a joke. He was a poet/writer.

8. He said I was too busy with the wedding planning

I was too busy with the wedding planning that I wasn't giving him enough of my time bahaha.

9. He did it to prove to himself that he loved me

He had to prove to himself that he loved me by sleeping with my friend. The logic was that if he cheated on me and felt bad he would know that he really was into me. He actually came to my place the next day to give me the good news.

10. He told me he didn't want to lose either of us

My ex told me he didn't want to lose me or his other girlfriend, he liked us both and "wanted us both in his life." He was dating her when he met me, I genuinely had no clue until we broke up. There's something called friendship, my guy. Every girl you meet doesn't have to be your girlfriend. Not that I would've wanted to be friends with someone who cheats on his girlfriend anyways.

11. He said he wanted to make sure he no longer had feelings for her

He told me that he wanted to make sure he no longer had feelings for her and I guess smashing was the only way to do so.

12. He said he did it because I wouldn't forgive him

"You wouldn't forgive me for the first time, so I might as well keep doing it." Apparently, it hurt his feelings that I was upset at being cheated on so he cheated some more. Also, "she didn't make me feel guilty for how I messed up before."

13. He said he had a medical condition that makes him sleep with other women

"I have this medical condition where I have to sleep with other women." I never laughed so hard in my life.

14. He claimed he was doing it to help her with her sexuality

I caught my ex sending this "friend" he met playing games online d*ck pics, and he said it "helped her to be more comfortable with her sexuality". I still cannot even fathom it.

15. He said he couldn't help it

"Well you are the girl I hang out with the most, this means that when I'm alone with other girls I don't know how to act differently and end up having sex with them as well."

16. He told me he got possessed

He told me he got possessed and that the "ghost" that possessed him used him to make out with a girl at the club.

17. He said gas was getting too expensive

Dead ass my most recent boyfriend cheated on me because he said gas was getting too expensive and the girl he cheated with lived closer. (I broke up with him because he was going to continue to see us both) but I caught him! Then he proceeded to tell me he didn't think it would work out anyways because I was "unattractive."

18. He said cheating helps him love his wife more

I had a man flirt with me, tell me he was married, and then post videos of himself making out with different women at clubs. I called him out on it. He said cheating helps him love his wife more because it makes his connection to her stronger when he goes back. WTF I was so mad and he was like raging trying to justify it.

19. He said he decided to be a father figure for her

She (the girl he cheated on me with) didn't have a father so he decided to be her boyfriend and take her responsibility while being in a relationship with me already.

20. He said God wanted him to make sure I was the right woman for him

"God wanted me to make sure you are the right woman for me, so I had to test the waters." Absolute nonsense.

Phew 😮‍💨 These were rough. If you're going to cheat, do yourself and your partner a favor and at least have a better excuse than these people. Or hey! Here's a thought.. maybe just don't cheat. If you're unhappy in your relationship, simply leave.
