I can't believe after a year this day has come...the kids are finally back in school full time!!! What are us stay-at-home moms suppose to do with ourselves lol. This is going to be interesting right?
And before you know it we will be out of school again and the kids will be right back to bugging us all day once summer comes. Why did they even have to torture us with having our kids come back full time so close to summer break. What a tease!!! That's how I feel. I hope I am not the only one.
For a year I have stayed home to help guide our son through his school work and day to day things. It's a lot to take on, but I've become so use to it that now I am like what the heck?! I became a stay-at-home mom once the pandemic hit and we had no clue when schools and after care would open back up. Now I am stuck in my own head during the day when our son is at school and I am struggling! The struggle is real mommas. Can any other SAHM's tell me how they are handling this?
It's only week one but I have a few things in mind to help with this transition.
- Go for walks. There is just something about getting outside, getting the fresh air and not being in front of any electronics.
- Finding projects around the house. Being a SAHM I can say that there are days that seem repetitive with the house cleaning, but there's always something else that can be done like re-organizing the jewelry box, purging your closet, and finding areas to redecorate.
- Tapping in to that passion. It's not too late, you've heard that before right? Yep, so have I and I have to keep reminding myself of that. Pre-pandemic I was working on a family apparel line, and ran into some challenges we couldn't navigate with so we had to pivot away from it. Restructuring a new company has taken some time for me because I was so excited with my original vision, but as I am trying to stay positive I am also trying to take advantage of this time at home with not as many distractions and hone into what I love.
As I continue to build on this list of ways to keep busy now that our little one is back I am curious to know what some other SAHM's are doing...especially if you were a new SAHM because of the pandemic.
