The trendy word these days is identity.
Changing of identity to the point of stealing identity, that people no longer know that we all have a created purpose.
We can be secure in our own identity if we know, who we are in Christ.
We know who we are in Christ, comes from a confidence of spending time with Him.
We don't need to speak words to others to prove who we are. We need to display who we are as we represent Him.
2 Corinthians 5 Verse 20" "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors as though God were making His appeal through us"
First identity stealing was the serpent {Satan} asking Eve in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3 Verse 1: 'Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made, he said to the woman, 'Did God really say, You can't eat from any tree in the garden'."
Adam and Eve communed with God in the garden they had an identity before God.
Eve's answer to the serpent should have been, 'I know Who I am, God has made me for a purpose and in my communing with Him, He did say not to eat of the fruit of one tree, and because Adam and myself converse and commune with God in this place He created for us, I believe God has the best in mind for us and His reason for telling us not to eat the fruit of that tree, is for our benefit, so rack off and don't try to tempt me again.'
Simple statement in hindsight, curiosity can be a virtue or a downfall. and they virtually questioned God, did He really know what was best for them and was He holding something back.
Knowing our Identity in Our Lord and Our Friend, so when temptation may come, we will not be in error like those who Questioned Jesus in Matthew 22 Verse 29:
"Jesus answered them, 'You are deceived because you don't know the Scriptures or the power of God'."
Our identity is given to us through His Word.
Our identity is lived out in the Power of that Word.
Our new identity has been purchased for us; 1 Corinthians 7 Verse 23: "You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men."
John 8 Verse 31 and 32:
Verse 31: 'If you continue in My Word you really are my disciples'."
Verse 32: You will know the truth and the Truth will set you free.".
God so loves, secure your identity in that truth and acccept nothing less.
God Bless.
