#NewComicsday and it's a great day to be a comic book enthusiast! A new villain stalks the pages of Batman and Robin but Shush, don't say anything, and we are introduced to the new generation of speedsters in Speed Force #1. Celebrating 10 years of Spider-Man being Superior and yes that is Doctor Doom riding a dinosaur as Marvel is a force to recon with this week. Image stays strong as they start to close out some of their bigger story arcs.
Sponsored By All C's Collectibles who had an amazing Expo last week. Some big changes are coming for the next event in April as the new "Collectors Showcase" is set to dazzle you. But for now we've got five stacked high ready to fly:
Mandalorian Season 2 #6> THE TRAGEDY! The MANDALORIAN and GROGU travel to an ancient site. Featuring the RETURN of BOBA FETT! (S) Rodney Barnes (A) Steven Cummings
Smurfs Take> It's the moment all fans have been waiting for. Boba is back…but let's face it he never really left. This was an impressive episode to start with as we worked the mystery of Grogu but to see Boba back in action as he decimated the Stormtroopers was fantastic. So many firsts in the issue and I don't expect it to linger long on the shelf.
Alien #1> EVERYONE WILL HEAR YOU SCREAM! In deep space spins a world infected by the universe's greatest killers. Most people - sane people - would construct a barrier thicker than the hulls of ten Nostromos and leave it to rot. But where most people see a death trap, Weyland-Yutani sees the biggest payout in the history of civilization. And if it costs a few human lives to secure? Those come cheap here. Corporate corruption, personal betrayals and extraordinary violence - Declan Shalvey and Andrea Broccardo's next and greatest Alien story starts here! (S) Declan Shalvey (A) Andrea Broccardo, Declan Shalvey
Smurfs Take> This series has been absolutely terrific! I thought they wouldn't be able to keep this up or hold my interest because it's just the same thing rehashed every issue with there's the monsters…run. I couldn't have been more wrong, and it's not just because I'm a fan of the movies and want to give this a chance. This has proven to have a dominating space on the shelf and is not going away any time soon.
Outsiders #1> "Never the End." A universe of secrets is about to come to light. Batman protects Gotham City from evil. Batman Inc. protects the rest of the known world. But what of the unknown world? What of the ancient evils in hidden tombs and forgotten tragedies from a magic-and-mad-sciencefueled super-heroic century? Using his fortune, Luke Fox launches a new organization dedicated to shining light into the world's darkest corners. His first recruit: Kate Kane, the Batwoman-who will re-embrace her military background to protect Luke's dream and encounter every bit of strangeness the DCU has to offer. And just wait until you meet the Third Man…or learn what universe-shattering secret they've discovered buried under Antarctica. Outsiders is the return of comic book archaeology, digging into all the forgotten corners of DC's history to preserve, record, and better understand the true nature of the DC Multiverse…and the forgotten stories that make up its fabric. (S) Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly (A) Robert Carey
Smurfs Take> Sounds interesting and a little bit of Legends of Tomorrow thrown in there as well. I like that DC is trying new things and bring out some characters that have been shelved or forgotten to give us some new stories. They are great at expanding on some of their lesser-known characters.
Something Epic #7> END OF STORY ARCFinal issue of first story arc! Haunted by the death and destruction wrought by his own emotions, Dan returns to the temple, where his darkness reveals its true face. Twenty-nine pages of story and art for the regular price of just $3.99! (S) Szymon Kudranski (A) Szymon Kudranski
Smurfs Take> One of the best values on the shelf this week but beside that we finally get some answers to the story. This has been a fun all be it weird story and I think I've stuck to it just so I can get some answers.
Immortal Thor #4> SUMMONS OF THE ALL-FATHER! On the dark side of the moon, God faced Goddess - and that was only the beginning of Thor's troubles. But as his many foes gathered to destroy him, the Odinson had one final trick to play... This is the story of THE IMMORTAL THOR...and the Summoning of the Four. (S) Al Ewing (A) Martin Coccolo
Smurfs Take> Just when I thought there wasn't anywhere to go with the Thor story, we get this amazing title. Al has done so many things right in the first three issues he should hold a class. Exciting time for the title, for the character, and for the fans.
