As we wrap up the year 2023, I want you to take the time to ponder on how your heart's posture was throughout the year; what went well and how did you react? What didn't go so well and how did this affect you? How consistent have you been in being grateful for what 2023 has taught you?
It is important to understand the language of the heart; the way in which we process our thoughts, our ideas, the way we treat people, and ensuring we are better versions of ourselves for the community we want to serve. There is no need to neglect or ignore how you feel; it is good to work on those uncomfortable areas that make you question who you are, and becoming a healthy being.
Stepping into 2024 is a rich blessing which I believe we will all witness; it does, however, take the heart of peace, solitude and reflection to enter it with gratitude. It is becoming increasingly evident that being thankful boosts morale, performance at work and creates better relationships with other people, and even better; opens opportunities to meet those who can help you attain the next level.
When you understand the language of your heart, you're able to distinguish when a negative character trait may pop up unexpectedly and find ways to work on it before being granted another opportunity, or you can choose to stay in your old ways and habits, expecting a different change, when in reality; "nothing changes IF nothing changes" – Author Des Amey.
Can we take a moment to analyse the heart of our thoughts, choices and decisions – Are they healthy? Are they self-centred? Do they consist of helping others and being able to understand their needs, or are we going into a new year with the same mindset of self? The language of the heart is able to relate and empathise with other people, especially when one may feel misunderstood or looked down on. It's not always about what you can offer, the advice you give or what you believe they should be doing, but sitting in the silence with others and gleaning from their own perspectives.
Let's make a decision to reflect on the language of our hearts, how quick we are to listen, and how slow we should be when communicating our thoughts with our words. We know words are powerful and can't be taken back once mentioned, however, we can take the time to reflect and be in a posture of gratitude rather than rushing into what's next for us. We know that what is for us won't be taken away; it just needs time to naturally unfold, but this can only come when you are ready to embrace the new, leave the old behind and step in with a heart of positivity.
May you take the time to reflect and enjoy these last few weeks of 2023, ensuring that you understand the language of your heart and doing what it takes to make it healthy for 2024.
Yours Truly,
Women's Worth Conference Group.
