It should be, LIFE in PRISON with NO chance of parole, or the DEATH penalty for the torture death of his wife, and the baby she was, carrying, but instead, this son-of-a-BITCH (still not the four-legged "variety"), only got twenty-three years! The man, Lee didn't get along with his wife, they separated, with one living in Taoyuan, the other, in Yunlin, four years ago, he'd suspected his wife was having an affair, in the heat of his anger, he'd forced his wife who was pregnant then, to strip, forced her to recite the Buddhist verses nonstop for two full hours, used his cell phone to record it, beaten her, sexually assaulted her, then, used the air pump, beaten his wife's head until she was fatally injured, the Highest Court found him guilty on torture abuse, forced sexual intercourse, and murder, gave him twenty-three years.
On June 11th, 2020, Lee used the reason that he'd found out his wife was having an affair, demanded that she drives up from Yunlin to Taoyuan to his rental place to have a "talk", he'd questioned her on who she was having an affair with, how many times had they had sex together, and, learned that she'd been seeing the other man for three years, he became, outraged, started slapping, and beating his wife, disregarded how she was crying, begging for him to stop, still forced her to strip herself down. Lee used his cell phone, to record, and LINED the other man from his wife's phone, "get ready to collect her body tomorrow."
The following day at around midnight, Lee had his wife recite the Buddhist verses continually for two hours, during this time, he'd sexually assaulted her a second time, he'd felt she was still, not telling him everything, started beating her head with an air pump at least three times, his tortured wife, due to multiple injuries to her torso, finally, fell unconscious in the bathroom, as Lee took her to the hospital, he'd lied to the paramedics, that "she fell". Before his wife arrived at the hospital, she'd stopped, breathing already, and went into shock from the brain injuries, the fractures, hernia in her brains, causing her central nervous systems to go into shock, she'd died on the afternoon.
Lee denied the allegations of abusing his wife to death, claimed that it was because she refused to divorce, that the two sexual intercourse he'd had with her, she'd consented both times, "I went crazy, as I'd found out she had an affair", and that he'd picked up something at random, and went on a beating spree, couldn't recall where he'd hit her, or how many times, "I didn't think she would, die."
The investigators found, when Lee was torturing his wife, he was having a video chat with a foreign woman, and gloated to her how he'd, beaten his wife that her face, her head wouldn't stop bleeding, wrote, "she'd recited the Buddhist verses for two whole hours, and after I got up from a short sleep, I'd penetrated her for thirty minutes, without ejaculating, and took a break." At the time, Lee's wife was five months pregnant, but it didn't show, Lee claimed he didn't know that his wife was pregnant, the forensic examiners also confirmed, that the fetus wasn't, Lee's.
The courts believed, that Lee because of his wife's affair, got emotional and abuse, that it was not the same as planning out her murder, but he'd, taken his wife's life so carelessly, that it's unacceptable by the society, although the families of the victim asked for the death penalty, but Lee can still be reformed, on the first and second trial, Lee was given a life term. But because the Highest Courts withdrew the verdict, the case was retried, and the first retrial reduced his sentence to twenty-three years for the torture, the forced sexual intercourse, and murder, the highest court tossed the appeal, case closed.
And because, the crime supposedly happened in the heat of the moment, because he didn't purchase the air pump ahead of times (just grabbed it because it was there close by), and beaten his own pregnant wife to death, and the autopsy showed that the fetus she was carrying wasn't his either, so that made it okay, for this man, to MURDER her, because she was, unfaithful, this is SHIT, how this murderer got away with the LIFE-TERM, with NO chance of parole, and it didn't MATTER if the reason for him murdering his own wife by beating was because she cheated on him with another, and the fetus she was carrying, he'd still, murdered her, and only received, that SLAP on the wrist for this awful, atrocious, crime!
