| Bekahbrunstetter February 12 | It was your special, sacred thing, an inside joke, a secret, your baby, the inner folds of your soul, and now it's for everyone. Everyone has snacks to eat and must eat them one at a time, the Peanut M&Ms get searched for through the plastic and someone's got a whole bag of Doritos, someone's drunk, someone else is asleep, these are the people you focus on. Some lady has to pee ten minutes in. Maybe she's so moved she has to leave. Maybe she has to poop. Maybe she hates it. Everyone laughs and you breathe. You are in heaven but in hell. Your heart stops when the set gets stuck and you are suddenly a part of the audience, you also don't know what will happen next, you sit and watch patiently as the Story of the tech people trying to get the Towel unstuck from the platform wheel unfolds before you. Five minutes later, when it finally moves, you cheer just as much as the people around you, and you realize that they are with you, and want more. Suddenly you feel supported by these strangers, they are your chair and your floor. You lean back, take notes, and hope to reach them. | | | |
