Thinking purely from an energetic stance, someone else's "problem" is not your problem. However when we energetically cross with others, this shifts the energy in our body.
The "work" is to become conscious of this when it happens.
Those of us who work in the service business, especially if highly sensitive, can more easily take on others problems, being in the vicinity of them, even just speaking over the phone. When people put their problems on to us, whether its to help them fix the issue or because we think we need to help them fix it, can be detrimental to our own mental health if we are completely unconscious.
Ive experienced this, I am much more conscious of this. Able to shift quicker when it happens, when I get to help someone fix their problem, able to detach from the experience - it is their experience not mine - ensuring all the questions are asked, and detachment is experienced.
I heard a quote this evening, "When emotions are high, intelligence goes low."
Mind blown in so many ways, its very true. When someone is in a panic mode, whatever it might be, thinking straight just doesn't happen sadly. I can recall when we awoke to our basement flooding and I know for hours, I couldn't think straight. I had people calling me in the same situation, also freaking out in various levels of their own devastating situations which made it even harder to think.
Pulling back, taking a moment to call back all MY energy and being consciously aware that the only thing I can ever control, is me. Standing in my power, respectively. Where energy needs to dissipate in order to expand in powerful ways.
A blend you may feel intrigued to try...
- Citrus Bliss - the oil of creativity - "a powerful fire starter..."
- Petitgrain - the oil of ancestry - "invokes a deep appreciation for positive forms of ancestral knowledge, wisdom and family history."
- Douglas Fir - the oil of generational wisdom - "inviting individuals to break free from destructive traditions passed down... to live according to their own conscience and values by letting go of harmful patterns."
As a healing people pleaser, I am always pleasantly surprised with my intuitive blends that come through, this is just perfect for what I am sharing within my blog. When falling into the "people pleaser" mode, it puts everyone else before you. There is a fine line between this also, knowing what would be regularly regarded as respectful on every level.
When someone is in crisis mode, they aren't thinking straight, they also may not provide all the information required to make an educated decision (on both sides). Asking for help, when you are ready is KEY! If its before you are ready, there will be time, energy and money wasted on both sides.
The key factors I always now look at, are time and energy. How do I feel, am I taking on energy that is not mine and does not need to be mine, the energetic transfer can happen whether in person or virtually via phone etc. What can I do that is within my (or our) capacity without pushing those limits.
Where I am much better at recognizing, is where my energy is expanding in a constricting way, where it feels tight, pushed, forced, not natural, no flow, abrupt, to be able to shift myself back into the beautiful flow I desire within everyday of my life.
