Daily writing prompt
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
How do you get it all done? This question annoys me because I am damned if I answer and damned if I don't. Other women never like the answer I give. I simply do what I need to do on any given day because it needs to be done regardless of how I feel, think, or want. As a homemaker, it is my job to manage the household. I homeschool, I work remotely, I workout every day, I write. I volunteer. I finished 2 degrees, while I was homeschooling. As a homeschooling parent, I actually prepare lessons, and teach. My day is from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Honestly, people who struggle to maintain the house, they really do not want to. There are so many systems out there to teach people how to keep the house clean, the meals made, etc. Do I ever have a day where I let things go? Of course, however, in my home, you wouldn't know. This is because I clean as I go on regardless of what is going on. I never go to bed with the dishes not done, the laundry not done, or the floors not swept and mopped.
I have been a fulltime working mother and a stay at homeschooling homestead mom. The workload is still the same and the routines are the same. SOmetimes, you need to push through physical pain and mental health issues because the way you treat your environment affects your inner world and vice versa. There are some women who use their health as a crutch to not deal with their issues. I have suffered from migraines and other injuries, I simply did what was expected to be done that day. I would go to bed for a bit and pick up the day where it needed to be met.
So, the next time,y ou think how does that person get all that done? Ask yourself:
Do I really want a clean house?
Do I really want to finish my education?
Do I really want to cook everynight?
Do I really want to lose weight?
This list could go on and on.
Let's be honest, the house should never take more than an hour to clean daily. A 90 mintue deep clean weekly. If it is taking more than a hour a day, you have too much stuff in the room. I live with 3 messy people. One is very messy. I needed to put things in place so things will stay the I want and my family can live with. We have a Golden who eats anything plastic. Things can't be just lying around.
