And that sorry excuse would be??? "Your honor, I did NOT know that these were, stolen, credit cards, I was only, hired for a, job!"………….off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
An individual cabdriver, Hsu was suspected of taking the asking of a scam ring, went to pick up the drop of the ATM cards sent by the victims in a super convenience store, and, delivered, the package to the specified locations as told to him by the scam artist rings, the farthest location he'd driven to was fifty-seven kilometers, he'd received a pay off of $3,115 for a total of four pickups and drop-offs. As Hsu was arrested, he'd claimed that he didn't know he'd delivered the stolen credit cards of the victims, but the judge believed, that the work was not the same as the normal delivery service drivers, still charged him on four counts of accomplice of fraud, and that he needed to serve a total of six months in prison.
The investigators found, that the scam artists on July 13th of last, managed to get Shue's three A.T.M. cards, as Shue mailed them out in a package, he'd found something wasn't quite right, and reported it to the, police.
Three days later, the man, Hsu went to the two separate locations to pick up the drop from two super convenience stores, and, as he'd been told, took the packages to the water tower by the split of the road to the tourist factory on the water freeway of Chiayi, and picked up the $2,000N.T. of the money that he was promised to, receive.
And the police were there before, as Hsu went to pick up the package at the super convenience shop, he was arrested, the two packages were, confiscated. The investigation showed, that in that one month, Hsu picked up a total of FOUR packages as was told to him at the designated locations, and earned the illegally made profit of $3,115N.T.s.
Hsu denied the involvement in scam, the attorney told, that Hsu was only following orders, gone as he was told, by the delivery service network, to pick up the packages, and left the packages at the designated locations, to earn his keep, he'd not known where the packages were sent from, and as he'd accepted the job, then, the slip would show the details of the orders, and after he got into contact with the clients, then, he'd been told, where to, drop the packages, off to, and as he'd signed on the order slips, he couldn't cancel as he wished, otherwise he would be penalized, and can only, fulfill the delivery, orders.
hello, the DROP-OFF location was, OFF-the-MAPS, and that should raise a RED FLAG! Photo from online
The attorney stressed, the demands made to his clients were sometimes absurd, and Hsu never thought, that the contents inside the packages were the savings ledgers, or the A.T.M. cards, or anything relating to scams.
The judge found, that the accepting the delivery slips weren't all completely, automated; that the package pickup that Hsu had done, was different than that of the ordinary errand runners picking up the packages, that it'd been found unreasonable, that the terms of the delivery, the frequency of the deliveries, that the distance of the deliveries are about seventy-five kilometers, and, based off of the costs of operations, it's just not, probable.
And, as Hsu testified, "I'd delivered the packages for a long time, never had I encountered such a strange case, as I saw the location of the drop, I'd felt, a bit, weird.", concluded that Hsu was well aware that he was doing something that wasn't, ordinary, but he'd not turned it down, that he'd not, cross checked the facts, that this wasn't, normal.
And so, this scam pickup delivery person's excuse was??? Oh yeah, you did NOT know any better! Maybe you didn't know, at first, but I'm more than certain, that you started having an idea of that you're, doing something ILLEGAL, after that first, two, three times, I mean, how DUMB can you get? The scam artist had you delivered the packages to an uninhibited location, and you'd driven, how far to make your deliveries again? Those should be the RED FLAGS, but, apparently, you were too, hooked on the monetary offers, to know right from wrong.
