I don't really know what it takes to be a great mom, and I certainly don't know what it takes to be a good mom. But what I do know is how to be the mom my children need. My children need me to be honest, caring, humble, a listener, a hugger, and someone who says 'yes' as much as possible.
I know, my dear children, that you want me to be the mom you would like to have. And to be that, I will do my best.I'll learn from my mistakes and from my failures. I acknowledge my agitated moments and anger episodes when I yell because I'm feeling frustrated inside. I'll show you that I am a human being and I'm open to learning and improving myself.
I want to demonstrate that no one is perfect, and thus, I can't be a perfect mom. All I can be is your mom. The mom you need and the mom I can be.
Parenting is a journey of growth for both the parent and the child. It's not about achieving perfection, but about striving to be better every day. I realize that sometimes I will fall short of your expectations and my own. In those moments, I will seek to learn and grow, showing you that it's okay to make mistakes as long as we learn from them.I want you to see that it's okay to be vulnerable, to admit when you're wrong, and to apologize sincerely. These are important lessons that I want to impart to you. I want you to know that even when I'm struggling, my love for you remains unwavering. My commitment is to always try to understand your needs and meet them as best as I can.
I also recognize the importance of setting boundaries and being consistent, even when it's hard. Discipline, when given with love and understanding, helps you feel secure and teaches you valuable life lessons. I want to balance being a supportive, nurturing presence with being a guide who helps you navigate the challenges of growing up.
As your mom, I aim to create a home filled with love, laughter, and learning. I want to be your biggest cheerleader, celebrating your successes and comforting you during tough times. I strive to foster an environment where you feel safe to express yourself and confident in your ability to face the world. In the end, I hope to be remembered not as a perfect mom, but as a mom who tried her best, loved deeply, and was always there for her children. I hope to leave a legacy of love, resilience, and the importance of continual growth and learning. My promise to you is that I will continue to strive to be the mom you need, every single day.
