Because, somewhere along the way to her, burning her husband alive, her conscience was, recovered, and she'd, attempted to put out the fires, which is what got her this, SLAP on the, wrist…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
Her Husband Became the Scapegoat of the Issues She Has with Her Mother-in-Law, She'd, Set the Fires When He Was Fast Asleep, the Second Retrial Believed that the Sparks were Accidental, that She'd Not Intended to Set the Fires
After the former flight attendant, Lee quit her job, she'd married the man, Yang who was eight years her junior, because of the problems with her mother-in-law, the two women refused to get along. Lee felt upset, that her husband was too passive in mediating, she'd poured gasoline on him, burned him to death, the courts had three times found her guilty of murder, sentenced him to fifteen years, the Highest Courts still retracted the verdict, and mandated the retrials; the High Subsidiary Court of Taichung on the second retrial found, that Lee had poured gasoline on Yang, and in the confrontation, the fire was, accidentally set, that there's no subjective of her wanting to commit murder, and considering how she'd, attempted to exterminate the fire on him, reduced her sentence to twelve years yesterday.
The investigations found, that Lee (age 44), and Yang (age 36), lived together after marriage, Lee had altercations with her in-laws frequently, the mother-in-law daughter-in-law relationship was tense. In March of 2021, Lee posted on FB, and included the bite marks on her arms, accused that her mother-in-law had bitten her, and sprayed chili oil on her, her husband's side had, produced the videos of how Lee was, slapping her mother-in-law, kicking her, the online community called the them, "a shocking pair of daughter and mother-in-law".
The mother-in-law sued the daughter-in-law for domestic abuse, Lee thought that her husband didn't mediate between them actively, that he was, passive, and scapegoated her anger onto him. On March 11th of the same year, Lee went to the gas station, purchased the kegs and filled the gasoline up, when her husband was fast asleep, she'd, poured the gas all over him, then, lit him up, Yang was severely burned, after the resuscitation measures were done on him for a month and a half, he'd, died.
The Taichung District Court, the Taichung High Subsidiary Courts, on the appeals and the retrials all found her guilty of murder, and sentenced her to fifteen years, and the Highest Courts went on the fact, that the lower courts did not check into whether or not Lee had intended set the fires, and tossed the original verdicts back, twice, and sent the case to get retried, again.
During the second retrial, Lee still denied having committed murder, claimed that she'd only wanted to scare her husband, she'd apologized to her in-laws in court, but they'd not, forgiven her. The Collectivist Courts found, that Lee had worked as a flight attendant from before for many years, and had been trained in flight safety measures, and knowing that the residence is an enclosed space, with many flammable items, and, as Yang begged her, she'd still, set the fires, clearly, she'd shown intent to commit murder. Lee and her husband, her in-laws, had been accumulating up the upsets, and she'd become, really, upset, and committed the murder, but she had, taken the fire extinguisher to put out the fire, and not caused, any, further damages to the other residents in her, building.
The second retrial found, that Lee's intentions of murder, of committing the arsons are, without any, found basis, that she'd not, had any, intentions of, causing harm, and she'd, gotten a reduced charge for arson, as she'd, put out the fires, and she got sentenced only for the murder of her husband, for twelve years, this can still be, appealed.
And so, instead of LIFE in prison or the, DEATH penalty, you got a slap on the wrist, for committing arson, and murdering your own, husband, and your husband WAS, the scapegoat in this case, the problem is between you and your mother-in-law, but you'd felt, that your husband didn't, speak on your behalf, that's why, in that moment of anger, you'd, set him on fire, and killed him, but because you'd felt remorse after setting him on fire, you had, put out the fire, that's why, you only got twelve years, instead of LIFE in prison or the, death penalty…
This is, how, WORTHLESS a human life is, under the ruling of the DDP, as the party tries to, do away with the, death penalty in this country.
