Contrary to the ANCIENT, beliefs of how a woman's virtues come from her being, IGNORANT, this is, SEXIST, and unfortunately, it's still ongoing to this, very day, and this, IS the, 21st CENTURY!!! Translated…
"A virtuous woman is one without any talents!", first time I'd heard this, I was, holding a conversation with a couple of friends, when an older friend mentioned it, there's that, feel of thoughtfulness, as he'd stated it. At that very moment, I'd felt, uncomfortable that I can't, describe. The words became like a passage through time, took me to get a closer look at what bounded our, gender.
It'd reminded me of an older girl in my neighborhood, back in high school, she'd loved physics, with her dreams of becoming an, engineer, but in our hometown, the girls were warned to focus on the families, that we should not have too much, ambitions; and all these words, slowly, got the best of her, she'd, given up on her, dreams. I'd recalled the day she'd, given up on her studies, tears won't stop coming out of her eyes, and that despair from her, became, deeply imprinted in me.

And yet, the times are, changing, in my college years, I'd met a ton of people who'd shared my ambitions, of them, an foreign exchange student, Anna. In her country, education was a right that nothing can take away, no matter the sex. Anna talked about how she'd pursued her doctorate in physics, and dreamed of entering into the nuclear research organization in Europe. Her story got me thinking, if the older girl in my neighborhood had the equal opportunities, how different might her life, be?
I'd started to gain an understanding, that education is not just tools to get us more knowledgeable, it's a power, enough to, break the chains, to open up the futures, when the women are given the opportunities to be, educated, they can shine brightly, not just for themselves, but also, for the society as a whole. Thinking about this, it's filled me with hope for the, futures.

Now, I put myself into advocating women's education more. Every time I see young women like Anna, who bravely pursued their, dreams, I'd felt, glad. This wasn't just for their, individual and personal achievements, but for a world of equality, of equal opportunities.
Through the supportive education means, we're not just, changing the age-old beliefs of "women are virtuous if they stay ignorant", we are, breaking the grounds, to set up a future for the talents, no matter the sex, to shine through. And this would be, the wonderful heritage that our generation, leave, behind.
And so, the times had now, changed, the age-old beliefs of women is best if they are kept at home, no longer applied to modern day cultures, and yet, there are still, the older generations who'd held firmly to the beliefs of a woman should take care of everything in the house, that men are the primary, breadwinners, and that needs to change, but it still, isn't changed enough, it's deeply rooted in the cultures, and to pull that up, it will take a ton of work!
