God makes certain promises in His Word. Deuteronomy 28:1-15 enumerates the blessings of listening to God and to following His commandments. Remember that in the New Testament, He gives us two commandments, Love Him, and Love Your Neighbor. I love this passage in Deuteronomy, and often go here to review God's good intentions towards His people, including me.
I take a pretty broad interpretation of these verses. For example, since I don't have flocks or cattle, I understand these things were the wealth of the shepherd or farmer. In modern times, I take this verse to mean that God will bless the financial aspects of my life if I'm following Him. When I budget and look for ways to spend wisely, I think of these verses and several others in Proverbs.
One of my favorite verses of the passage is Verse 5, "Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store." In Biblical times, this probably referred to a sort of stockpile and the gathering basket from the fields. Or perhaps a basket for storage of goods and the pantry? I love old English, mostly because I know it means several different ideas in one verse!
I can't help thinking about a more modern concept of this, that my grocery buggy and my actual Aldi are blessed. I know that God blesses what I choose for the buggy during my bimonthly grocery shop, as He stretches it way beyond the reality of what I actually purchase! My particular store is often blessed with items that are out of stock in other places, and I find the things I need from the list. This is one way in which my "basket" and my "store" are blessed.
My storage area and baskets are bountifully blessed as well. Because of a few other bloggers' advice, I've been building a healthy stockpile for several years. One blogger simply suggests buying 5 dollars' worth of extra each grocery trip. Another YouTube suggests using ten percent of the grocery budget for stockpile items. Any way that you choose to start, a stockpile is a blessing to have!
I pray these verses are a blessing to you! And I pray that you, too, are blessed and know it!
