The foundation that advocated reading materials outside of class, started from the thought of two people, who wanted to change the lives of children locally…the gifts of books that will keep on, cycling, repeating, started with the kind thoughts of the founders of the foundation to advocate literacy, to instill that love of reading in children…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The Jing-Jing Chiang foundation for reading had been delivering the books for fourteen years, from the cities to the distant regions, from the guerrilla type deliveries, to the deep, local means, there's still no clear sight of the students' futures yet, but, from the growths, the performances of children, the founder of the foundation, Huang saw what he'd invested in was hope, and what hope can, bring, he will continue the book deliveries for the rest of his, life, and if he couldn't finish the work in his lifetime, then, he will have his own offspring to continue on the work.
Fourteen years ago, the Datong Elementary School of the eastside of Tainan was built, and there was the need for books to fill up the shelves, and, the Compassion Charitable Foundation C.E.O., Huang in Tainan was, called, but he'd, donated hundreds of thousands of dollars N.T. from before to the schools to purchase more library books, but the schools didn't put the money to good use, so he'd felt, a bit, hesitant this time the asking, came.
Huang told, later, he'd changed his thought, if every book can get into the hands of one child, and it's the children who got to, select the reading materials they'd enjoyed, then, the program would work, better, and so, he'd, proposed a new mode of book donation, he'd taken the students to the bookstores for them to select the volumes, given the gifts of one book per student in the third to sixth grade levels.

This act was reinforced by the entrepreneurs, Lin and Chang, and later, the three individuals started up the "Jing Jin Chiang Reading Association", and given the gifts of books to the students from the various schools, and the smaller scale schools, they'd given the books to the middle and higher graders, and for the larger scale schools, the books were only given to the sixth grade students. There are over two hundred elementary schools in the city of Tainan, the members of the foundation calculated, that if the books are to get delivered to all the schools to all the grades, all the children, there would be at least ten million dollars N.T. in funding needed, if the trip to the bookstores by the tour buses, the McDonald's meals, at least twenty million dollars N.T., but the partnership of three, without any hesitations, showed the support to the program.
At first, the books are delivered to the different schools by selection, but there are the principals who'd believed, that to get the children to read more, there should be an in-depth method, and so, they'd started giving the gifts of books for five years to the schools with the programs to advocating reading, the schools designed the courses in reading in compliance, and the numbers of the schools in this program had gotten up to fourteen. Huang told, that the guerilla-style delivery of books still continued by the year, primarily into the schools in the distant regions; while they have come up with a different system of book deliveries for the schools in the cities, complying with the Book Planet program by the department of education of Tainan, they'd offered scholarship money annually for a points-system, and the top three students with the most number of points, along with the students whose submissions of articles had been printed, will be awarded five hundred dollars N.T., and they'd found, that the writings from the students got published by the massive numbers on paper.
"We can't see the futures, but we're, investing in the hopes; I hope that my work, can help you see your own, futures." Huang told, that many schools would require the students to write the book reports, and the schools who received these deliveries of books, they saw the growth, the improvements in writing in the students who are the recipients of the books they'd, donated, the students from the third grade, only wrote a dozen or so words, by sixth grade, they could already write the paragraphs, and even, the essays then, other than seeing that they were "investing in the hopes", the donors also saw "what hope is."
The reading foundation had already delivered the books to a whole of seventy-seven schools, and the reading plans is still, expanding currently, "if we can keep the program for ten years, we will do it for another ten, and, if we're able to do it for two whole decades, then, maybe, we can, extend it for the entirety of our, lives, and if we can't finish the work, then, our children will take after us." Huang smiled, said that this is, the consensus of the founders of the, foundation.

So, this is, a good literacy program, by allowing the students to select the books THEY want to read, they're more than likely to engage themselves in reading, and, chances are, they will not just, increase their knowledge base, also improve their critical thinking skills, and, they are less likely to involve themselves with a bad crowd, because books have this way, of changing a person, and this is, a good program, and it's, continuing through the generations.
