Reading to the children, it helps them see the world in imaginative ways, introduced them to the love of words, of reading, which will be important as they grow older, and this needs to start at a young age, in order to have enough of an effect on the lives of your own young…translated…
My one-year-old daughter found her favorite illustrated book from the shelves, smiled and came before me, extended her chubby and short index finger, stated, "Cat", looked at the purple cat with the glow in the eyes, being surprised, I'd, realized just how surprising, how wonderful the effects of reading it.
Because I graduated from related major, in the university years, I'd often worked as "storyteller" in the places; considering the children in attendance spanning across widely, and the total number of children, we'd worked in teams, and before we read, we'd, done a ton of rehearsals.
To help all the children to enjoy reading, we'd not only needed to make the voices of the characters, and had to, gently stop those children with their hands touching the books we were reading too; and, we would offer the live interactions with the children, set up the interesting activities related to what we'd read, to help the kids get even more immersed in the stories; in the process, the eyes of children all aglow, and their active participation, was the best feedback for us all.

Recently, there are more and more school who push forth the benefits of reading, of the schools, my elementary school too. there are many ways of reinforcing reading, I'd liked the concepts of "MSSR" (Modeled Sustained Silent Reading), with the adults as role models for children in reading, respecting the child in their choices of books, offering that serene, quiet environment that they can read in. And now in the mornings when I'd walked into the class, I would see students, reading the books, them, being immersed in reading, took away that antsy feel that they had, and they're better able to stay calm and focused on the lessons that came after. For the instructors, it's too precious, to not spend any time on keeping the classroom order, and, it's really amazing, whenever I hear the students shared their thoughts on what they'd, read.
In the early mornings, I'd selected a favorite volume, sit on my chair in the classroom, enjoyed this, leisure period of my busy day's work.
My daughter picked up another book that had all the transportation means to me, she'd agilely turned to the page with the trains, "then the bunny went on the train ride with his friends! The train speeds so fast it's, flying…" as she'd heard the nursery rhymes, she'd started, laughing out loud.

Finally, there will be a day, when we will, alight that physical train together, but until then, I'm more than happy to, open up her imagination with the magical world of, reading, to tap into her imaginations, to allow her world to open wide, as huge as the skies, as vast as the, plains.
So, this is how reading opens up a whole wide world, reading books takes us on journeys, it takes us places we can't go, like the moon, or under the seas (as in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea???), reading helps the child develop her/his imagination, and imaginations helps in problem-solving skills, and creativity, and, we all need creativity these days, to help us solve the problems we may encounter in our day to day lives, so start your young off on reading.
