Under the circumstances of a kidnapping victim might be harmed, the police became abusive in questioning the teen, and it's still NO excuse for the violence the police used on this teenager, but, this teenager basically, DESERVED it, because he LIED about a kidnapping, and there are just, the slaps on the wrists for the police who had, abused the teen, to get the information out of him…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
One Adolescent Had the Indictment Dropped, the D.A. Asked for Leniency for the Other Two Adolescents
An adolescent in Taoyuan, Huang lied about being abducted, and got tasered by three officers during interrogation, beaten by the copy machine, to the point of having his pants stripped down, the adolescent sustained many physical injuries; afterwards, the three officers who'd abused the adolescent was sent to the D.A.'s Office, the district attorneys found that the adolescent admitted to giving the false statements, misleading the investigators, considering how the officers were working a criminal case, they were worried about the kidnapped victims, that was why they'd made the mistakes, suggested the courts to sentence the officers, Wang and Cheng leniently, having them serve probation, with the officer, Lee's charges dropped.
Attorneys believed, that although the two officers had admitted to breaking the laws, and reached a settlement agreement with the adolescent, that it'd fitted to the probationary terms, but, based off of the child protection laws and the law enforcement abusing power charges, both required half of the sentences added on; and whether or not Lee the officer who had the charges dropped, had intended to abuse the adolescent is also debatable.
The district attorney's investigated, that the seventeen-year-old Huang called the police in February of this year, claimed that he was involved in a virtual kidnapping, and on the very same evening, the Wuling Substation officers found the adolescent passing by the police station, after they got consent from him, they'd had the adolescent go into the police station to tell them what exactly had happened.
In the interview of the teen, the patrol officer, Cheng and the police sergeant, Lee believed the teen to be lying to them, that he was trying to misguide the case, they became upset, Wang used a taser, and the iron printing station and the police stick to beat the adolescent, Cheng used his fist, and the police stick, and piked the teen, while Lee kicked the teen, the adolescent sustained multiple physical injuries, Wang had asked the teen to get on his knees, and drop his pants.
Afterwards, the adolescent pressed charges against the police, admitted to lying in the police interrogations, that he had, given false information; afterwards, Huang's father took him to the hospital to get his injuries documented, after he'd learned that his son lied to the police, misled the investigation, he'd told that he didn't want to pursue charges against the police.
The D.A. found, that Wang was guilty of assault and forced behaviors, Cheng of assault, the two admitted to what they did, and already paid the money to the adolescent to settle, the adolescent also told that he didn't want to pursue it any further; considering that the two detectives were working a major criminal investigation case, worried about the victim, and made the errors, and they had been disciplined, asked the courts for a simplified decision, suggested the investigators be given lighter sentence or probation.
Lee had kicked the adolescent, the D.A. believed that Lee didn't use any force, during the interrogation of the adolescent, Lee wasn't present through the whole process, it's hard to confirm that he had acted with the two other detectives in the behaviors, his indictment was dropped.
So, the teen was the one who'd done wrong, and the police should've kept their cool, but, because they were worried about the kidnapped victims (or so the paper stated!), that was why they'd, acted violently toward this, juvenile criminal, and because the courts and the D.A. saw, that the police's intents were to rescue the kidnapped victim, that they were stressed out, which led them to physically assault the teen who'd made up the case about kidnapping someone.
The one at fault IS the teenager, and yet, he'd only gotten away, with a SLAP on the wrist, and yeah, the police shouldn't have resorted to violence, but as the article stated, they were worried about the made-up (which they didn't know it was!) kidnapped victim's safety, so, they only got slaps on the wrists!
