This morning I messaged my husband, (because I have the winter blues, and walking down to the basement to talk to my husband in person would have required way to much energy.) He suggested a trip slightly north, to Miami University, the Hamilton Campus. Hubby likes adventures that require driving, and the bonus was, the campus Conservatory is free to visit. It's NOTHING like the Conservatory at Eden Park, in Cincinnati (which is huge and amazing) but it cost $10 per person. They have nice benches scattered around in there, if you just want to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. There's also a lovely little waterfall, adding to the calm and relaxing environment with a gentle, white noise. A friend has suggested that we go to the Cincinnati Conservatory in early spring, during their butterfly show. I can hardly wait for that outing! In the meantime, I settled for a nice ride and a much smaller conservatory. When we first got there, the campus looked like a ghost town. My husband was a little concerned that it might not be open, but it was. We walked in to find two students doing the job of watering all of the plants. I enjoyed walking around in the warm, moist and very green environment. It's pretty much off-season/resting time for most of those plants, but we still saw lots in interesting, and/or beautiful plants. I wanted to just sit in there for a while, but it was a self-serve situation in that regard. I noticed a meeting/class room off to one side, so I checked to see if the door was locked. It wasn't! So I pulled a chair out and placed it in a optimum spot, and relished my dose of sitting in the conservatory. It was just what I needed to help me endure these last few days of February. Maybe you'll feel closer to spring, just by enjoying my photos! | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
