There is a simple dish that tastes so good it's served in many countries in Asia. Its crispy and can be served as as a snack but also as lunch. It's called Samosa.
Potato filled samosa
You could say its a dough croquette filled with spicy potatoes, veggies or meat and deepfried in the oil. Ahad made a sour and spicy yoghurt dressing for it which makes the Samosa to taste even better.
Milktea
Usually the best thing to go with food in Pakistan is a milktea with spices. I have cooked it before but it feels so different when you do everything from scratch instead of cooking milk and soaking teabags. Tea is a must in a Pakistani household. Not sure though if its because people always enjoyed tea or if the tradition has been brought up by the Britains that are also crazy about tea. I'm not very sure but I got a feeling that being able to drink tea used to be a way to show status. It was like a refined drink before that only aristocrats could take a hold of.
The way to make milktea with spices is not so difficult. You need some water, tea (chai pati), cardemon, sugar and milk. Cinnamon and ginger can be added as well. It's all a matter of taste. What is important though is the temperature. At the end of cooking it is important to heat up the milk to it's cooking point in order to remove the smell of milk which is quite strong in Pakistan because the milk is pure, meaning not as much pasteurized as in Europe. Once the tea is ready you need a strainer in order to seperate the liquid from the tea remains.
