Anime Dallas, the fastest-growing anime convention in North Texas, will be held for its fourth consecutive year in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, November 12-14, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel DFW. Anime Dallas was originally founded in 2018 by voice actor John Swasey as a charitable vehicle to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey, which had recently devastated the Greater Houston area.

"The philanthropic component of our event has been a driving force from the beginning, and we have been absolutely blown away by the support we've received from the anime community," Swasey says. "In our very first year, we raised and donated $8,700 to Disaster Relief USA, and we have continued in that mission since, raising money for a different non-profit organization each year."

In 2021, Anime Dallas will make a charitable donation benefitting The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth.

"The vision of The Trevor Project is personal to us," Swasey says. "The community that they serve is very closely aligned to our community of anime creators and fans, so we're well-acquainted with the struggles that LGBTQ youth face every day. We're honored for the chance to unite our fans to do something to help in their mission."

Convention-goers will be enthralled by three days of Japanese-themed activity on the Hyatt Regency grounds: Throughout the weekend, fans will be able to meet and interact with more than a dozen voice actors and directors who deliver English-language anime to U.S. airwaves and meet numerous professional cosplayers who bring beloved anime characters to life with elaborate costumes, props and makeup. On November 12, 2021, attendees can witness a live concert by fast-paced taiko group Goisagi and, later in the weekend, a concert given by United Nations international ambassador singer Kohei.

Tickets for the three-day event are $30 before November 1, 2021 and $40 at the door. Single day passes are also available for all three days of the convention, at $25 for November 12, 2021, $30 for November 13, 2021 and $10 on November 14, 2021. Children 12 years and younger will be admitted for free – with adult supervision – on November 14, 2021. Hotel rooms are available at the Hyatt for convention goers at a special convention rate of $115/night and can be booked here.
