After changing into the "not so royal" outfits as the princess expected, the Aether King Taehyung took her to Naksan beach as suggested by Lord Jungkook.
When it comes to elements, it is not really a hard task to choose a place which you will like the most. Taehyung too considered that water will be the best option for Lara, and a chance for him to see her smile once again.
*20 Minutes ago*
"It's the duty of the King and the Queen to provide their kingdom an heir.", said the king reading the eyes of Princess Lara. "Authority comes with a responsibility, Princess. And I have the right to expect at least that much from you."
"What about love?", Lara, who asked the question about golden eyes truly out of curiosity, was looking at the king in confusion.
"What about it?"
"What do you mean by 'what about it?'? Doesn't it count before you get to the heir part?"
The princess never seemed to be on the same page with the thoughts of the rules that a royal needs to follow. But the more she grew, the more she realized that those rules are burdening.
The responsibility about which the King was talking about was exactly the reason she was afraid of marrying him.
"It would have been much better if I have to marry a common person." She blurted out in a sense of betrayal and loss, but why did she feel those emotions was a mystery even to her.
"What did you just say? Marrying a common person?", and for the first time, the king's eyes opened wide. Maybe those words were not meant to be said or heard but at that moment those were the only words that remained.
"King Taehyung, your outfits have been prepared. Please follow me."
The appearance of Lord Jungkook out of the blue made the conversation stop but the thoughts in both their minds were running wild.
*Present Time*
"So, 5 minutes in our kingdoms really equals 3 hours on Earth?" No matter how many times the lord of Earth explained the time, it was hard for the Wincia's princess to accept it.
"Yes. one day in your kingdom equals 36 days on Earth.", but still like a loyal subject, Lord Jungkook kept answering the princess with patience.
"Wow, that's wonderful. Does that mean 9 hours in my kingdom will be equal to… 9 multiplied by 36…. 360-36….. 3… 2….4…. 324 hours? How many days is it? Ahmm…"
"13.5 days.", the King who was following the princess all this while, listening to her overly joyful talk with Lord Jungkook could not resist hearing the excitement in her voice.
"Jungkook.", and suddenly he dropped the formal speech with his half-brother.
"You can return to your work. I know my way around.", the irritation in his voice was noticeable now.
"As you say, my King." Jungkook bowed to King Taehyung before turning to the princess.
"It was a pleasure to host you, princess. We will be seeing each other at your marriage now."
Lara bows along with Jungkook giving him a faint smile before he disappears into thin air once again.
"Can we continue where we left our conversation earlier?" the King turns to her without wasting another moment.
When two elements from different worlds combine, maybe it looks like that. Some elements get intertwined in harmony as they have always been together, and others… others remain clashing.
Continuously trying to prove their dominance over the other. Opposites attract or not when it comes to thoughts is still a question of significance.
"Are you going to ignore the fact that you said marrying a common man is better than marrying me? The king of all the 5 kingdoms?", those golden eyes were intense.
"I am not ignoring anything. I said it loud enough for you to hear.", but not so intense to break the cold of her grey eyes.
"Marrying a king was always a nightmare to me and to worsen it further, it was YOU who sent the proposal of marriage."
Those words came out like a force. A force that even the King was unable to contain.
"THAT'S ENOUGH, PRINCESS LARA. WE ARE GOING BACK, RIGHT NOW"
"And we are back to the patriarchal power. I am sorry, but I decided not to go back.", right after saying her part, Lara threw her arm aside followed by a tiny sound of something dropping in the sea.
"I am staying here." She turns back to the King with no curiosity, no excitement, and no fear at all.
"What did you throw there?"
"You can kill me if you'd like."
"I ASKED WHAT DID YOU JUST THROW?"
"I am not going to marry a king who has no family, but just a kingdom."
Elements are confusing, but what is more confusing than that is the thoughts that pass through the mind of a victim. A victim of society and rules, a victim of broken promises, and a victim of emotions.
It is often hard to decide who is the bigger victim too. The one who never received anything in the first place or the one who received a lot and is about to lose it all.
"Were you planning this when you asked me to bring you here? Was this your plan all along?", the lower voice, the disappointment, the betrayal from the person he loved, everything was getting heavier for the king than the duties he ever had.
Suddenly, with a whoosh of the air, Lord Jungkook appeared again behind the King.
"Brother, why did you summon me back?", confused about the sudden situation, the lord of Earth dropped the honorifics.
"Princess, is everything okay?", Seeing no interest from the King to reply, Lord Jungkook asked the princess.
"I want you to imprison her."
Lara's eyes opened wide after hearing what the King said and the same was the reaction of his half-brother, who obviously failed to understand the reason for this sudden command."
"But Tae-"
"IT IS MY COMMAND, LORD JUNGKOOK.", his loud voice matched the thunder in the sky.
"MAKE SURE SHE LIVES SURROUNDED BY WATER BUT CANNOT TOUCH A DROP OF IT."
"How dare you?", Lara finally breaks the spell of silence cast on her lips caused by this sudden change in events. She wasn't expecting things to go this way.
"Brother, she is your fiance.", still confused by all the situation, Lord Jungkook tried again to calm his brother down but only made it worse.
"Keep her imprisoned until I am back. That's my final command."
Before saying another word, the King got swallowed by a blinding white light which left both Lara and Jungkook rubbing their eyes for a few minutes.
"Did he just leave?", asked Lara looking at Lord Jungkook.
In reply, Jungkook sighed and looked back at her.
"It's time for us to leave as well."
"You are not actually sending me to a prison, are you?"
Looking back at the princess, the lord of Earth just raised his shoulders, "That's exactly what I am asked to do."
