I was having coffee with some friends recently, and as we chattered about life in general our conversation turned to sharing our "Born Again" moment. I was delighted when my friend's husband shared his life changing experience. So today, I thought I might write how he heard the voice of the Lord, as it relates to one of my previous articles I have written. It relates to the article I wrote about the word spoken by Jesus on the cross "It is Finished" John 19:30
My friend had reached a place in his life where the way he lived, worked, and sort entertainment, had all become dull and unfulfilling to him. He was over it in other words, bored by it, it was no longer how he wanted to live his life. One day, as he walked past a church, he heard sounds coming from within, something was happening inside, so he went into the church and sat down and just rested there. As he sat and listened to the sounds around him of the event taking place something amazing happened, and he knew his life had changed. What had happened? He knew without doubt his life had been released from the power of sin. He was free indeed. Sin no longer had dominion over him. By the kindness of God, he was brought to repentance and his new life began. Romans 6:14 states: For sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under the law, but under grace. My friend's husband stated, he even felt physically different.
What my friend shared about his personal encounter with Jesus, is exactly the same as I had been shown in my own encounter with God years earlier in a vision. God had spoken with two of His children, both received exactly the same truth, both had exactly the same revelation of that truth even though the story setting was very different. Sin has no hold over us as children of God. Thank you, Jesus.
