2 Timothy 1 verse 7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but of power love, and sound Judgement".

Some translations use 'spirit of timidity', which I am of the belief takes away from the real meaning. Paul was writing to Timothy and apparently Timothy was governed by a spirit of fear {1 Corinthians 16 verse 10}. Paul does not moralize Timothy for this, but merely pointed out that such an attitude did not come from The Holy Spirit.

We all have attitudes that come from the flesh, not the Holy Spirit. Even the Apostle Paul had his moments with despair {2 Corinthians 1 verse8}. We are all subject to weakness of some sort, but the point is such, feelings do not come from The Holy Spirit. Remembering {Romans 1 verse 8} There is no condemnation, it certainly does not mean we are not Christians, and it does not mean we are less pleasing to Our Lord and Our Friend generally.

In Christ Jesus we have sufficiency, we have new life in Christ, It about living in our new lives, which we are all trying to do, but the old man, old woman of the flesh, has been around so long, it is hard to easily get rid of them.

Fearlessness is a state of mind that can only be achieved by the Holy Spirit. You can not work it up. You can work up courage. But you can not make yourself feel no fear. If you do have fears admit them, it is no disgrace to feel like that. But when we let the fullness of The Holy Spirit into our lives, all fears is gone. At least at that moment, it may not last forever, this is when we need to draw on the Holy Spirit, because He has given us all we need to come through, any situation.

The Holy Spirit has given us a spirit of power, love, and sound judgement {mind},

God Bless.
