Forgive me i will be biased only on this post! I love homeschooling so much. My husband and i fell in love with homeschooling ever since we learnt more about it from a family friend. This was before our first born started school and before the girls were born.

We just knew this was the path for us. This was what we wanted for our children and hoped they would also get different exposure than we did growing up.

Every parent has an idea of what they want for their children and that may be attending public school for your children as a parent. We all want the best for our children, our choices are not better than the next but just different and diverse and that is the way we were created as beings.

If you still choose public schooling you are just as amazing as the parent who chooses to homeschool their children.

I am here to present a different approach to schooling your children and why my family chose this type of school. It may also assist other parents to transition to homeschool if they desire to especially due to the pandemic that hit the world changing a lot including our educatin system and most recently the political unrest in Eswatini. Thus has affected public schools a lot.

Five Benefits Of Homeschooling

  1. The Morning Nightmare is Made easier.
  2. Groom your children as you please.
  3. Create your socialising schedule and become the best of friends.
  4. Nothing disturbs homeschooling, you can continue schooling your children even when you travel.
  5. Children develop a strong back bone to trust their decisions and when they mingle with other children they do not lose their individuality.
  6. Did i say 5, i meant 6 benefits. You will assist your children with challenges in school and encourage where they lack confidence.

The morning nightmare is made easier

I do not know about you guys but i love having my mornings easier than they would if our children went to a public school. This subtracts the dropping off at school in the mornings and pick ups after school.

This has allowed us to be flexible enough with choosing a nanny because we are able to opt for a nanny that commutes and that is one of our desires as we love to be hands on in their lives and fully present.

So i know this one is quite attractive especially to us moms who are always rushing in the morning preparing lunch boxes and getting the children ready.

Groom your children as you please

Your children are exposed to your home and to people you decide to expose them to.

The words and the behaviours in Society are absorbed by our children whether good or bad. These are what shapes your children as they grow which can have advantages and disadvantages.

One of the major reasons we love homeschooling is your children are mostly exposed to you as a parent. You have the major impact in their lives, no bullies but you are mostly responsible for where they are exposed to and whom you groom them to become.

As you notice their gifts and talents you will be able to focus on them at their early ages then groom them and further purchase a curriculum that supports their talents.

You create your socialising schedule and become the best of friends

You deliberately and intentionally make time to spend with your children. This you do in order for your children to be exposed to their environment. You use every opportunity to get them out of the house with you to do things together and to teach them life skills.

I am reminded how we decided to purchase a seven seater car for our business with my husband but it was also for our children's comfort. We love to travel as a family and take them to visit different places so we needed them to be as comfortable as possible especially on long trips.

You can become much closer to your children because you make them a priority and set aside many distractions

Lessons are not disturbed even when you decide to travel with the kids

You can travel with the children anywhere and still have school. Whatever may be going on school is not disturbed. I love the DVD pre- recorded lessons because you can continue with school without access to the internet.

Unless of course you desire a break for your children and yourself then you determine your timetable and how long it will go on for as long as you do not miss out or fall behind on lessons.

You get to choose school hours that actually work for you as a family. Even if you have hired a tutor you can choose a time that is good for all your children to start class. A time they are most alert.

A strong back bone

Your children make decisions for themselves without peer pressure and they learn to trust their own decisions as individuals than relying on the majority. They learn to trust their own ideas while they are young. We will not cancel out Socialiation for homeschooled children because all these things are important so they interact with their environment too.

Having an extreme of anything is not good at all. When homeschooled children socialise with other children you will notice how they know and are secure with what they want.

As they grow up as much as we want our children as parents to get along with other children and make friends we still want them to be themselves because they were created for a purpose.

Each child has a purpose here and whenever we blend too much in a crowd we lose who we are created to be.

You will assist your children yourself and help them where they lack confidence

You will have the opportunity and privilege not only to speak into their lives but they will be closer to you as a parent than anyone else. You have the best interest for your child more than anyone in the world and you will speak life to those children.

If they have a learning challenge you have the chance the speak words of life unto them and they realise just how capable they are to do anything they put their minds on.

If they happened to be told they are lacking in something, you can still uproot that information since they spend most of their time with you. It may help to train who ever  is exposed to your children how to speak and use their words carefully.

I would like to hear from you as you share your journeys too. I am open minded and whatever i learn that works for us parents i am willing to learn.

Please do share your journey schooling your children even if your children are done with their tertiary Education. If you have any questions please do ask as it also helps me cover the areas i may have forgotten to cover in my posts.

Wrapped with Love,
