Easter Sunday a time to celebrate look what the Lord has done. He has risen, risen indeed. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from Isaiah 53 verses 5 and 6:
Isaiah 53 Verse 5 and 6:
V5: "But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds".
V6: "We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way: and The Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us all".
Why we believe in Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 53: Most of us, know and can quote verse 5 and 6:
But we should all come to know and love, the entirety of Isaiah 53.
Isaiah 53 is one of the most hopeful and inspiring chapters in the Bible. Some have called it the most beautiful. Some see it as the most violent. The Suffering Servant in this account was rejected , but He received the rejection rather than returning it. People did the worst they could to Him. They punished Him, they rejected him, they unleashed fury on Him. Yet the evil that people did to Him was changed into something Good.
Isaiah 53, is in accord with many other Old Testament passages. confirms that Jesus was exactly who He claimed to be; the long-anticipated Messiah of God. Many ancient interpreters correctly understood that these texts in Isaiah pointed to the Messiah.
Since Jesus is the only one who fulfilled them all perfectly, and The Truth is no one else has even come close. That is why The Truth of this verse is so special, because it was Jesus Christ the Righteous, the One we can accept as Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend to Whom all prophetic history pointed.
That is why we can say, "In Him, we live, move and have our being". Acts 17 verse 28: Jesus Is The Christ, and Upon that Rock of Truth, we can build our lives.
