I know, it has been too long. I am really struggling with time management.
I work full-time, and I mean FULL-TIME.
Regular Remote Workday:
7:00: Wake up and get the kids off to school
7:45: Walk up to my office and lock the door
12-2: Somewhere here, I run and grab some food from the kitchen and bring it up to my office. If I have any extra minutes, I arrange dinner.
5:45-6:45: I sign out, serve dinner, and sit with the kids, trying desperately to avoid my phone even though I had not checked it for hours.
9:00: The last of the stragglers are heading off to bed, teens are doing their thing, and I check my phone for any important updates from schools and family.
My night is basically over. Showers, saying hello to the husband, and everything taking so much longer than I actually wrote. Because, life.
I work hybrid mode, so there is an in office day as well.
Office Day: (1-2 times a week)
6:00: Wake up, get dressed, throw on a little makeup to look semi presentable and somewhat awake.
6:30/40: Husband drives me a half hour+ to the train station.
7:15: Sit down on the train and scroll through the phone for a bit.
7:28: Train leaves. I mostly just watch some tv shows or close my eyes and avoid anything with words. I am not a great traveler and even if I could write, the internet is spotty and frustrating.
8:45: Reach my destination and walk 15 minutes to the office.
9:00: I sit in my office chair, leaving a few times for the bathroom and awesome coffees.
12:00: If someone invites me to go eat with them, I walk about 10 minutes to a food joint and bring back the food to sit at my desk. Because everyone eats so damn fast and it gets awkward when I am still eating and they are waiting for me. I don't really know them too well yet.
5:15/6:15: Depending on how busy my day is, I leave to catch the trains that leave on the :45's. Sometimes I can pick up food before, but mostly I am late and don't want to miss the train.
7:15-8:15: I get to the train station and my husband comes to get me. If I did not get food before I left, I shove some very fast food down my throat and head home.
8:00-9:00: I get home and my kids are grabbing at me and begging me to listen to them. I am usually so exhausted and even when I try my best, it is not my best. I suck at this part .
My night is done. I can not do anything.
I signed up for an art class, my goal was to learn some more skills. I can't find the time to do it. I work Sunday-Thursday. Friday, I spend the day standing in my kitchen cooking. No phone scrolling, no wasting time, just cooking and cleaning for the weekend. Saturday I can't write because we don't use electronics for religious reasons.
So when can I make time to write blog posts? At work, I was avoiding using personal websites on my company computers. THEY.WATCH.EVERYTHING. I hate writing from the phone. So what am I doing now?
Does it work? Who knows... But I needed to write. I am going to try to figure this out somehow. Juggling work and home is a challenge. I am so new to this, it will take me time.
Thanks for stopping by. Always feel free to Like and Comment. I love to know when people come around.
