Hi read, How are you today? How is the school year going? We've been in school for over a month at this point. There is a lot to juggle with two kids at two schools. While there are always many plates spinning, this week I'm thrilled to share it's the 5-year anniversary of Mompowerment. My first book launched 5 years ago this week! More on a special offer below, but today I'm sharing 5 tips to help you create more of the work-life balance you crave now. Yes, this is on the blog, but here are some highlights with action steps: - Define and maintain boundaries. Boundaries help you create more balance. Whether that's saying no more or creating no-tech zones or times in your house, take that step now. Say no to say yes to something else.
- Be flexible with your productivity expectations. You won't be equally productive every day, no matter how you plan, your work style, or even the number of hours you work. Be intentional with your time, but also be flexible. And give yourself space and grace when it comes to productivity and time management.
- Consider how you work. How you work might change after kids. Or your work style while working remotely could be different than when you were in an office environment. Consider how and when you work best. Look at how that meshes with your team and/or clients. Ask for what you need.
- Partner better with your significant other. You do not need to get it all done alone. You don't even need to plan alone. Learn to work more effectively with your partner. Share the mental load.
- Focus on relationships. Relationships matter. At work, you need mentors, sponsors, and allies. Career advancement or building a business is easier with these people in your corner. Find a personal tribe to support you, which includes friends, families to carpool with, people who offer services like housekeeping, etc. Don't do it all alone.
Which of these will you start using now? Which of these have you been using? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Suzanne PS Remember how I said there would be a special offer?
