As the members of the legislature voted out the head of legislature, and, it's the KMT who won, but, are the KMT wise enough, to put the welfare of We the people FIRST, in front of their own political agendas? Yeah, from the past examples of the DDP, good luck! Because it ain't happening, because, what this worlds down to is, we need power, and now we have it, we will, make you, our opponents' lives, a LIVNG hell, and, guess WHO gets SCREWED over, it's still, WE the PEOPLE! Party politics is always higher priorities of the political parties instead of the people's welfare, based off of previous experiences, so why would this time be, any different??? Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
On February first here, the Legislature voted, elected Han of the KMT as the head of legislation.
That same day (January 31), the U.S. Congress passed the tax laws pushed forth by both Democrats and Republicans in the amount of $780 billion, expanding to the tax deductibles for young children, along with allowing some of the enterprises to not pay the taxes, and, the next steps for this bill is to go through the procedurals of the House; and, if this bill passed voting, then, it will be delivered to the president to sign into law.
This was an example of a law proposed by the American Congress itself. Our legislature, also had the functions of allowing the legislators to present the bills or the groups to propose a bill.
The politics of Taiwan that follows, the DDP holds the power of the Executive branch, the KMT won by the most number of seats out of the majority, with none of the parties gaining more than half the votes. In the future, are we looking at how the parties out of power, keep on, fighting, dueling, killing each other?
Back in Chen's presidency, the majority of the legislature are the KMTs; at the time, the policies proposed by the KMT, often got blocked by the party out of power, the DDP, getting the legislature stuck. And, the repeated fighting, stand-off, causing a ton of the needed bills to get STUCK in the executive branch of our government; the long-term entanglement, the refusing to back up to reach an agreement, causing the social development of the country into a stasis.
In Tsai's term of eight whole years, the legislative, executive powers are all in DDP's hands. But, the legislature did NOT do its job in supervising, and balancing out the power of the presidency; the unilateral dominance of the DDP, the completely takeover of the island by the DDP, caused the departments to become corrupt, turning the legislature into nothing more than, a rubber stamp.
The new legislature, I hope, that the newly elected head of legislature, Han will bring about a new wave of change in the government, to face up to the new challenges that the branch of government will face.
The role of the head of legislature needed to be mutual, to make sure the committee members examine the budgets, the laws proposed by the individual departments thoroughly, to resolve the conflicts, the negotiate between the parties out of power, to allow the bills to pass into law effectively; all of these, are the "necessary goodwill", the "necessary evils", but toward the economic stagnation that the country is currently faced with, the legislature lacked the concerns in whole for. What we the people want, is how as the economic downturn continues globally, how we are to, live our lives better? In the coming on of the implementation of the protectionist ideal of the various countries in the world, how do we, make our industries great again? How would the legislature, help the industries, the people, thrive?
The first thing, Han needs to take the legislature, to discard the past means of "the party out of power, in complete conflict" means, or, the "uni-party ruling of the legislature" mindset. To get OUT of the ideologies of the party politic, to focus on benefiting the people, passing more bills that benefitted the welfare of the people, of the industries, to expand the markets, to help the country's businesses grow, then, the legislature would then be noted for it's, functionality.
I suggest, that Han needs to strengthen the right to legislate of the legislature. Especially on the cases that helps the growth of the livelihoods of the citizens in this country; and, if there's the consideration of party ideologies by the DDP, Han must lead the legislature to BREAK through the barriers, to SET up the laws that regulate the policies.
Most of our signed legislations, are full of party ideologies, with NO subjective considerations of the external environments, these laws can't get out of Taiwan, and in the country, became way too, difficult to, implement.
The role of the KMT in the legislature is to set up a "actively party that's against the bills that don't benefit the citizens", instead of being like the DDP from before, against ALL the bills proposed by their, opposing parties.
And so, this would be, quite difficult, after all, these two opposing parties HATE each other, just look at how they went at one another's throats, in pulling each other's legs, and now, you think that they're going to, come together, to work for the benefits of we the people? Yeah, you can dream, and that would be the problem of the dynamics of the dual party systems: they're completely against each other on EVERYTHING, it don't matter if the bills proposed was sound or that it might benefit the people, we are against you all the way, simply because you are the ones, who came up with that idea, and so we say NO!
That doesn't get the country ANYWHERE!
