Transformation Continuing
Through the book of 1 John the Theme are 1: The test of reality in the Christian life.
2: The Tests of True fellowship, God is Light.
3: The tests of True Sonship, God is Love.
Chapter 2 verse 12 to 14 He calls Christians by a tender word "teknie" – which means "born ones" or bairns". God is dealing with His very own born-again children.
The understanding to be gained is: "You may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have Life in His Name. That those who believe in Christ might Know that they have eternal life.
First John was written because The Faith was being attacked by false teaching.
1 John 2 verse 18 to 28; 4 verse 1 to 6; 5 verse 6 to 7.
John longs to bring his hearers into intimate fellowship with The Father and The Son, that their joy might be full. 1 John 1 verses 3 and 4; 2 verses 13 and 14.
Christ, who was God, took on flesh and dwelt with people so they would know how much God loves them {us}.
John says we not only must believe like Christians, but we also must act like Christians.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him, yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth 1 john 1 v 6.
The Christian life –the life that is real—is a beautiful blending of 'something old, something new'. The Holy Spirit takes the old things and makes them new things in our experience.
The Holy Spirit is the only one Who can take old truth and make it fresh and new in our daily experiences.
Transformation is real and it starts from accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives and letting The Holy Spirit live through our lives, and change us into the people we were created to be.
God Bless.
