If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from Philippians 3 Verse 17:
Philippians 3 verse 17:
"Join in imitating me, brothers {and sisters], and observe those who live according to the example you have in us."
Paul encouraged others to follow his example. what sort of example do we set for others? Are we aware of how we influence other people? Are we close enough to the people around us, and in touch enough with our own tendencies. to have confidence in how others might follow us?
"Be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversion, in charity, in Spirit, in Faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4 verse 12.
Leaders should always lead by personal example, and that example should extend far beyond the nature of the task at hand. People pattern their motives and values after the people who bring leadership to their lives, whether direct influence, like teacher, pastor, work supervisor, sports coach or indirect like a medical practitioner, community leader or even politician.
In light of the circumstances around us today, we as His followers need to think about the reputation of our lives, and whether it is worthy of Our Lord and Our Friend. Would people be attracted to Him or repelled by our conduct? Are we wholehearted, in all we do for Him? Is Our Lord and Our Friend honored by unbelievers because of the things we do and say?
There is an old hymn. "Be Thou My Vision". Great words, but He is not only to be our vision, He is also to be our sufficiency., 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9:
Through that sufficiency, we have In Him, we can truly be that example, that a dying world needs to see.
