How women are, socialized to behave prim and proper, how we should, always be gentle, and soft, but are we??? Of course N-O-T! And yet, the world, it still, expected that from all of us…translated…
As I got older, I'd loved putting on the skirts more.
A huge piece of cloth, after cutting and tailoring, then, simply, around my waist, covered up those chubby legs, round and huge butt that the tight jeans can't cover up, the long skirt landed on my calves, light and it'd felt, free. When we started twirling, we call it the flowers, blooming.
But, I can't recall now, how I'd, begun objecting or hating those, skirts and, dresses.
Maybe, it's how my hoppity hop means, can't be covered up inside the skirts, as I was, maturing. After I'd run for a bit, and was at rest, my father would shout at me angrily, "keep your legs, together!" causing everybody around me to zoom in on me, with their sights, stationery, onto my knees that weren't, touching each other. And, that elegance, grace, the right way a girl should sit, started, getting chained inside my, closets, with the keys, lost in childhood, inside my father's, scolding me.

What should I do, what shouldn't I, do. That was, the curses, locked into, those, skirts that are, eager, to come back out blooming like a flower.
Until high school in a play, a couple of boys in the class, borrowed the uniforms of the girls' first choice of high school, the green shirts and black short skirts, then, stuffed an entire pack of toilet paper into the shirts, until the buttons were, about to pop off. They'd, fooled around in their wig, kept their legs opened, called loudly, nobody stopped them, or, criticized them, there were only the applauses, and their behaviors, treated as, jokes.
And, it seemed, that the problem was never of, the skirts.
Of course it was NEVER about the skirts, it's about a woman's, place, of how she's supposed to be all prim and proper, all the time, like how we were socialized to speak in a whisper, because nobody like a woman that's too loud, or how women had their feet bound (back in the olden days), because men like seeing us walk like that. This is still SHIT, and, we'd been trying, to break these barriers of gender inequality that's placed on us, and, we still have a long, long ways to go, and this is still not about, the skirts either!
